gbealnz Posted October 24, 2016 Share #23004 Posted October 24, 2016 That's what i like to see, Gary! I like the tyres as a safety barrier for the curb on the street circuit, and the mandatory broom for the Marshall. Aye mate, they were different times then. Now? No way, you'd need a run-off area, and all the associated palava that goes with keeping everyone, and I mean everyone, safe. Gary

MT0227 Posted October 24, 2016 Share #23006 Posted October 24, 2016 Steve..this, the first, is my favorite of the 3...the lighting on this one is most pleasing. I like the way the reds on the model match up with the background; at quick glance, I though it all was a painting. Adding in the other model sort of breaks up that feel to me. Nice work sir! I couldn't make it to Expo this year, sorry to hear it was disappointing. I thought it was pretty good last year, I was one of the first to demo the SL two shots from the photo expo -- a very quiet and somewhat disappointing affair this year. but that's not the topic for this thread. show always delivers the opportunity to shoot models under the lights, here are my two entries for this year -- 90mm elmarit m leica m-a portra 400 --

Well there were a lot fewer exhibitors. For example none of the light meter and color correction manufacturers were there. Billingham wasn't there and lots of others. The outside side walls were empty of booths. Didn't to be anything really new, certainly not at Leica except for their Polaroid. Fewer paper and web site companies. Hasselblad booth was jammed. Less models, less buzz. And less free stuff!!!!! First one I went to was about 7 years ago and the difference is amazing. MT0227 Posted October 24, 2016 Share #23009 Posted October 24, 2016 I like he second of the two patch shots; the way you positioned and composed the melons seems to make the foreground pop out at you a bit more. Great colors! The second from the patch... Velvia 50, SWC watermelons2.jpg
MT0227 Posted October 24, 2016 Share #23010 Posted October 24, 2016 Adam.....did you use the ground glass/view finder for this shot? I was out today playing with mine, I have the straight viewfinder. I find it quite dark around the edges, and subject in picture starts to get distorted as the frame moves away from center. The more I see Your pics, the more I like this place. Henry gets me by the feelings when posting Theo side by side to Vincent. Christoph's Storm is beautiful, Mark Tauber superb, johnnyboy's friend's pics are charming - remembering me albums from my Youth... and the whole series with daughter, niece - wow. I can post this maybe - a portrait I shot from Gery Oth, a photographer and a friend of mine , at a show of his works. Same Leica IIIf body from 1955, same Elmar 3:5 uncoated from 1936, same 400 TX from Kodak. MT0227 Posted October 24, 2016 Share #23012 Posted October 24, 2016 I went last year and it was hard to move. Booths all around the outer wall; one side all dedicated to lighting...with several printing services. Leica had a pretty big floor section and a small booth on the wall. Nikon/Sony had their big floor spots as you walked in. Too bad Thanks!!!!Well there were a lot fewer exhibitors. For example none of the light meter and color correction manufacturers were there. MT0227 Posted October 24, 2016 Share #23014 Posted October 24, 2016 Well....I thought I reeled in the film on my SWC. I almost always just wind away before I open the magazine to be sure, but failed this time. When I popped out the magazine insert I saw about 2-3 inches of the end of the negative Fortunately I can re-create this shots, just curious how many, if any, will be ok?

philipus Posted October 24, 2016 Share #23020 Posted October 24, 2016 Ah that's is the mystery Philip it intrigues me this photo. What is this vertical column in foreground ? Nice yellow Henry Good point, Eoin. I agree with you (but if I did that one wouldn't see that that pole is actually a railing and that the image is flipped on its side ) Hi, Philip. I like this shot. The only thing I find a little distracting is the indent in the pole at the bottom. If that were cropped out, I think the symmetry would pull back to the yellow 'L'.
