and the abominable CLANG of the mirror doing its work, shattering the tranquility of the moment ... :)

Yep, you described it exactly, Christoph.  And I just kept looking down and pretending to fuss with the camera for a few moments until the cringe of that loud noise faded. :)

You do not believe the stares I got just on the basis of how I was dressed, then for having a antique-looking camera, then for getting close during a time of great contemplation and then with the noise.  Fun stuff...

Adam Cinestill film gives usually this "deep" color no Adam , ie slightly accentuated giving these pretty colors

for skin,blue sky,green water

Not really, Henry.  Here are two examples, one with a PL and one without.  You'll see the big different that the PL makes.  Deeper colors and much stronger contrast.  Whereas, the one without the PL is VERY gentle and delicate, totally sublime IMHO...

Hey Henry, I've got some greens for YOU :)

Here are two with Velvia 50 and one with Portra 160

These photos are close ups of COTTON fields right along the main highway that connects Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.  Yet another example of the wonderful scenery to be found on this short 40 minute drive.

These fields produce beautiful flower buds and then a few weeks later produce cotton buds.  (I had thought that they were hibiscus and then only realized a few weeks later that they weren't when I returned and found the cotton buds).

The velvia 50 photos were inadvertently underexposed and pushed 1/2 stop, which I personally think produced a more unique look than if I had exposed correctly.

Now the Portra 160 (lovely but to me pales in comparison to the more edgy Velvia photos)

Adam thanks for posting these  wonderful color pictures

Both are nice , but I prefer the second for the clarity and perhaps with better definition (a bit)

(or resolution if you like this term). Velvia gives blue a little deeper

Thanks, Henry.  I agree with you entirely.  The second puts you there with polarizing sunglasses :)

Thanks a lot. I still need to practice a bit more with all the different kind of films for medium format. I just started with the Ektar for color pictures. With my Leica film Ms I like to use the CineStill50 a lot, but unfortunately this is not available as a 120.

I just saw that CineStill is working on a 120 film: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/cinestill-medium-large-format-film-camera-photography#/
