I like All Adam .Through your pictures I can see how they live.

Living and soft color and perfect reproduction of scenes from the life of this Orthodox population.

A think that I noticed is that I have shot a bunch more color film this trip than B&he. Here in Ragistan there are plenty of colorful photos opertuities so I guess that's the reason why. I have shot at least 6 rolls of B&W so looking forward to processing those ...... even though it's going to piss my wife off a wee bitty.

Question. How do you shoot a say 15 second exposure with the CFV50C....... tonight I did will my 100 Ekstr I just wanted to confirm it with the CFV50C to see if the exposure was correct??

I used the Ekta some year ago with the my M7 and it was not my cup of tea .... After this I have used only Portas o Fuji Pros for MF. Do you use CineStill? Could you please show some examples here?

Thank you in advance.

Here is a picture that I've made some time ago with the CineStill50:

I remember that I had the filter with me on that trip, but I forget when I was using it and when not. I have to take more notes on that.

no worries.  Sorry to quibble.  Who needs notes when you have stellar photos!  I was just trying to compare the rendition to some of mine that I took of family on the beach with the same film, w/ and w/o the PL.

Adam Cinestill film gives usually this "deep" color no Adam , ie slightly accentuated giving these pretty colors

for skin,blue sky,green water

On my usual "challah run" to Williamsburg, Brooklyn last Sunday, I took the opportunity to meander around the neighborhood and watch religious Jews shop for Etrog fruits for the upcoming Sukkoth (Succos) holiday.  These Etrog are required to be purchased and prayed with during the holiday.  They are considered to have very deep spiritual significance.  There is a plethora of laws regarding the pristine condition that the Etrogs must be in to qualify as "kosher" for the holiday.  In this spirit, people spend an inordinate amount of care and energy examining these fruits before purchasing them - even with the use magnifying glasses in many cases.   A friend of mine in my community (which is MUCH more modern than the folks in Williamsburg) boasted of paying $500 for his Etrog this holiday

Here are a few results...

Adam,

I much enjoy the pictures and the accompanying story. By the looks of it you used to shoot from the waist looking from the top into the finder. I imagine the stealth which which you approached your subjects, the composition and the waiting for the precise right moment, the pressing of the shutter, and the abominable CLANG of the mirror doing its work, shattering the tranquility of the moment ... :)
