I expose at box speed. Ektar has a fair bit of latitude, so I wouldn't worry too much, Neil

cheers mate. I'm hoping to get some of your kind of street shots while in the pink city[emoji106][emoji106][emoji41][emoji41][emoji106][emoji106]

Thank you Eoin, yes I am now back in full swing :)

Really cool Adam, well done also from a technical perspective. I am quite surprised to see these fairly muted colours. I certainly don't mind at all, it is a very nice photograph, but it is not how I'm used to

Very, very nice Marc. Makes it not look like a building but like a pyramid. I would never have guessed this is a skyscraper.

Wow splendid Adam

Great red I see with Kodak Ektar

Rg

H.

Thanks, Philip and Henry.

Philip - i found this plant in a green house and the atmosphere pretty much is reflected in the photo, which was not much context but cracking good red. So that is what i tried to capture.

Nice picture

For the trait always at the same place and in all your pictures ?

Never have this trait when I scanned on my V700

Best

Henry

The line was in the same place for two full strips, until I blew everything off with canned air. I would prefer the picture if it didn't have the car in it.

Hey, Neil. You can try squirting in via the hatch, but it's a fair way from the lens. Removing the front face doesn't actually do anything (ask me how I know...), as to open the scanner you need to take off the main cover (which voids the warranty).

A few questions:

Is the line always in exactly the same position?

Does it appear if you select B&W negative in the input tab (with colour and B&W negatives)?

What happens if you multi-scan, without ICE?

What resolution are you scanning at? I use the 5300dpi, which is, I think, the 'native' resolution - The 10k dpi is interpolated, which may introduce artifacts.

Eoin in using 5300 same as you. The line is exactly in the same position but since I have now disabled ICE the line has gone so my gut feeling now is to leave oxygen cylinder at the welding shop and just live without the ICE function. I like mimicking my pictures anyway so scan ACR print or post[emoji3][emoji3][emoji41][emoji41][emoji3][emoji3]

Any tips for shooting Ektar and neophyte 100??

Expose to the right or left, leave the filters in the bag etc etc

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have found that Ektar has latitude but it wont give the right color balance unless the exposure is reasonably precise. I typically will rate the film at 80 iso and shoot based on an average exposure teding. And if it is a shot i really like i will take another exposure giving a half stop or full stop more light depending on the contrast level

I truly love the Ektar series you have been posting. While I am unqualified to make technical statements about the quality of a photograph, I can say: These photographs allow a lot of latitude in visualizing, in my mind's eye, what it must have been like to stand there. Thanks for the great micro-vacation.

Thanks Adam for your precious advice

So you work at 80 Isos not at 100 Isos

I'll use my Gossen light meter for these tests

I'll try and post some pictures next time.

I usually shoot at a base of 1/125 and then open a 1/2 stop ..... so rule of 16, 1/125 f/11.5 and then, as Adam wrote, will open up another half or so for shadows. I generally find, sticking with rule of 16 that if its a sunny day and faces are not lit by the sun, f/8 works just fine. Thing to remember about negative film is overexposing is a lot better than underexposing. Underexpose Ektar and you can, as Adam said, get some funky colors in the shadows .... okay, Adam wrote "right color balance"  :-)

Process at box speed, I'd lean to 0.5 to 1.0 stop over when metering.  No more "thin" negatives ;)
