Doc Henry Posted November 30, 2014 Author Share #2146 Posted November 30, 2014 The quays of the Seine are a romantic place and even under cold, loving couples are not uncommon . Ilford HP5 (400 Isos) Leica M7 Summilux 35 Asph Ilford HP5 film (400 Isos) is still different from Kodak TX400, the grains are more present but there is less black intensity. I usually use the TX400 and I am currently testing the HP5 At the limit I prefer the Ilford is more subtle and finer grains. Allen (Tooka) is right ! Are you agree with me ? The Summilux 35 gives a slight wide angle effect on the M7, which is not unpleasant, unless the 28mm Thanks for looking and comments Best Henry
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! christoph_d Posted November 30, 2014 Share #2147 Posted November 30, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Henry, Thanks for the nice views of Paris, I should spend more time there... And, yes, you may be taken up on the offer .. I find all those films have their advantages and disadvantages: TriX is a great allrounder, well balanced, HP 5 has wonderful greys - and Grain, TMax400 is smooth and creamy. If you think too much about it you will notice you always have the wrong film in the camera Best regards Christoph

The Ilford has practically no problem. It's true, Ilford has really "fine" grain and beautiful "gray scale" Best Henry
Doc Henry Posted November 30, 2014 Author Share #2149 Posted November 30, 2014 I like the fine grain of Ilford HP5 , on the "stone" of Notre Dame de Paris cathedral and its beautiful gray scale, better than on my M8 ! ...cathedral , bridge and the famous romantic "bateau mouche" Welcome, dear visitor! Keith (M) Posted November 30, 2014 Share #2153 Posted November 30, 2014 It's true, Ilford has really "fine" grain and beautiful "gray scale" Looking back at photos I took in St Antonin Noble Val in 2011, I have to agree. M7, C-Sonnar 50mm, HP5+, Ilfosol 3. When my stocks of Tri-X and Neopan 400 are used up, I just might consider going back to HP5+. Welcome, dear visitor!
