atournas Posted September 17, 2016 Share #21124 Posted September 17, 2016 Many years ago, when I was struggling with my camera, a photography teacher once told me that shooting beggars, people's backs and long narrow streets are inevitable stages in one's photographic evolution. But now, going through some very early slides of mine, I cannot believe the garbage I used to shoot. I dread the moment when I start clearing up my negatives. What a waste of time and money! peterkinchington Posted September 17, 2016 Share #21126 Posted September 17, 2016 I still prefer the images I get with film particularly for underwater work. I currently use Agfa CT precisa 100 for my colour images ( l believe that this is repackaged fuji sensia). I use it in my nikonos 3 cameras with both my 15mm and 35mm lenses and extension tubes. For example these porcupine fish images were taken on the Agfa precisa transparency film. http://www.peterkinchington.com/uploads/3/1/5/8/3158130/8897466_orig.jpg http://www.peterkinchington.com/uploads/3/1/5/8/3158130/6186625_orig.jpg Cheers Peter (Kanga) Kinchington

Doc Henry Posted September 17, 2016 Author Share #21128 Posted September 17, 2016 Many years ago, when I was struggling with my camera, a photography teacher once told me that shooting beggars, people's backs and long narrow streets are inevitable stages in one's photographic evolution. But now, going through some very early slides of mine, I cannot believe the garbage I used to shoot. I dread the moment when I start clearing up my negatives. What a waste of time and money! Paul Paul, when I look at my slides and my negatives I thought these are treasures that I have to keep at all costs when I see the rapid development (in the wrong direction I think) of the digital and the future of the digital in a few years when all computers or software such as Windows will evolve and where I maybe could not watch my digital photos ! As you know the digital must be saved regularly and again save.... The film that remains. See photos of Chris 80s or before Best Henry
atournas Posted September 17, 2016 Share #21129 Posted September 17, 2016 Paul nice reflection of blue My tittle for your picture : "variation on the theme of blue" Thanks for posting Best Henry Thanks, Henry. Yes, your title is more appropriate. By the way, one thing that bothered me with the uploading of that photo was the blue saturation on viewers's monitors. I've been seeing different hues on different screens and on the slide itself. Paul
Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted September 17, 2016 Share #21130 Posted September 17, 2016 If I remember correctly this was shot with Porter 400.........I just love the pastel colors of this film. Paul Paul I try do desaturate in blue on LR (- 23) and it seems fine for me ! Yes sometimes , on some pictures you can have a little oversaturation (scan or development ?) but if you find it not looks like what you see you can correct Best Henry
