A miller Posted August 18, 2016 Share #20081 Posted August 18, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Delightful tones on this one Adam. Very enjoyable. Sumptuous Adam . In relief on my Eizo screen Ah TX one of the best film in any format Thanks for posting Rg Henry Another good film Kodak TX400 , isn't Adam ? I'll try Kodak TMax100 during my mission trip but I am afraid I'll not have this "deep" black Your opinion is welcome Le Grand Bornand (French Alpes) 2200 m also in cloudy and foggy bad light condition Kodak TX400 Leica MP 50 Summilux Asph , another good lens No correction too Image8grdbornkodtx400mplfht+++950.jpg Rg Henry Thanks, Philip and Henry. I wish i had a little more height coverage with my SWC. Or a ladder.... Henry - your photo with tri-x is wonderful. Yes, i love the deep black. But i am just not an expert in B&W film to be in a position to discriminate. I discriminate plenty too much with color film!!!

Doc Henry Posted August 18, 2016 Author Share #20087 Posted August 18, 2016 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I think they were consciously trying to emulate the days of the British Empire when they posed that way! The film used for the icehole fishing was a slide film sold by Dixon's - a British chain of tech shops rather like Radio Shack in the US. I don't know if they still exist, nor can I tell who made the film for them. The slide mounts just say 'Dixons'. It was probably Agfa or Orwo cheapness being of the essence to that chain! Chris Thanks Chris for your reply Dixon no longer exists but It's fine for this period Thanks again for posting Best Henry Edited August 18, 2016 by Doc Henry

I really like this with its soft, almost shadowless, greys that comes from diffused light. To my mind, it's much nicer than harsh blacks and baked highlights.
