I like the composition with the Bridge vanishing under the hat, the light re- or diffraction being the icing on the cake.

Old house by the river (Leica M4-2, Zeiss Biogon 35/2,0 ZM, Ilford FP4):

A nice quiet composition, well seen and executed.

Same as above, quite, well composed and expertly executed.

Images of the seaside always carry a longing for vacation for me. This is no exception, with the still waters of the pool mirroring the almost featureless sky.

Same pool different time. With colour and some users the atmosphere is different, but still captures the vast expanse of the sea. The saturated palette of the Portra fits well.

What a masterly use of a wide-angle, very cinematic as already mentioned. Well done, and a fitting continuation of the pool theme.

Phil, this must be one of the few instances when you used the 50mm in Oaxaca? The girls seem very happy, well documented with the vivid colours of the Portra VC. what was the occasion of this pineapple carrying?

Thank you sincerely, Christoph. I have no idea why the girls were carrying the pineapples, it just seemed quite charming and funny. It was during a day that seemed to be full of festivals and colour in Oaxaca city - this was after the workshop hence the liberation of the 50mm - so I just thoroughly enjoyed myself wandering and taking pictures in colour.

These two are my favourites (of your Polaroids) so far. I can see the attraction of the soft subdued everything, while at the same time the lack of crispness drives me crazy …

Thanks a lot! What drives me nuts is how unforgiving it is (and the $$$ each time I press the shutter). I thought I was pretty good at metering, this has been an eye opener that should improve my photography as a whole.

I also never really explored having such a low dynamic range… When it works, it kind of simplify the photo in a beautiful way.

Thanks a lot!
