Ha, yes and this was only my third cup! What I find interesting about multiple exposures of the same thing is that unlike single exposures, which look less sharp the closer you get, these look really blurry from a distance and the sharpen up as you approach.

Since ETA Hoffman´s tale of the nutcracker we know that toys are not so quiet and innocent at night as we would like to believe.... Sometimes I feel that my silver chrome MP and the Portra ( never the black paint MP, it is too serious ) take part in these schemes and try to puzzle me: That's what I find:

MP silver chrome, Portra, not sure if the lens participated...

As I scroll down the computer monitor, this cup of coffee animates into a motion picture, chattering through the projector of my brain in an endless loop of endless coffee cups. The hand can no longer be steady.

One of the advantages of the Photomic F2 is the multiple exposure capability.

That these are "fragments of the real world" is remarkable.

This is one of the elements in these color field collages that intrigues me. All right, so here it is. It's a photo-collage, 4'x6', installed on the gallery wall, optimal viewing distance at least 15' or more. The colors, the context. Approaching closer, the aha! kicks in, and the abstraction becomes realism, the surface textures of the common world. Well, this was an experience I had years ago, looking at a painting of snow-capped Alps by California impressionist painter Edgar Payne. I viewed the painting from about 15', then marveled as I approached closer and saw that it was but "blobs" of titanium white tinted with a smidgen of yellow ochre that read so convincingly--snow.

So, I admire what you are doing with your "light" series, something that we so often take for granted. The McCrae work is a deft bit of abstraction that dazzles, but no fear, I have my Oliver Peoples sunglasses. Talking about animation, this one simply dances.

Talk about gut-wrenching glorious visceral. This is my nightmare-gram! Love it. Embrace the mystery, dancing zigzag down the boulevard. Joaquin Phoenix is cast for this one. Good show! Now, we're going to get Hildur Gunadottir to vinyl the soundtrack. Sly one, you are, Dr. Klaus! It's the yellow flecks that are so haunting.

Reflections of my past.

The following series shot on Ektachrome (performed and survived so much better than my Kodachromes).

These were shot in Oban, Scotland, 1976.

Of the boat sequence of photos, this is the standout (for me). Not every tog would pre-visualise as you have here. Great use of colour too.

Yes I do like this one very much, just like Phil says. Such a beautiful colour combo haha. But I like it also for the little details. For instance, I have no idea what you do to make the edges of the fields fit so well together. It's technically well done.

What this one brings to my mind though is an image I saw in a book a few decades ago showing how the trajectories of particles that had collided in some CERN-like (or maybe at CERN) accelerator. It was yellow and had a few mesmerising, circular patterns that have stayed with me since that day. I also get some astronomy-related vibes. The upper part could be an inverted image of a galactic region and the lower could depict the cosmic background radiation.

Wow, are you getting totally cosmic. I am voting for your reading, no matter what! I will confess to a little secret about the collage process in my studies. I use lots of Xicara de Cafe's coffee, which means I have to dial up the brew Meister on an Ericsson, then sandwich these colors together with just the right flavor. Ha, ha. Sometimes, I get lucky, as is the case here. This blue and yellow "collage" is actually one shot. That's no collage. When I saw this, I immediately thought, "Oh, boy, Philip is going to flip when he sees this." I am happy you teased some "galactic region" out of this color portrait.

I like the edit, Philip, but it plays with my mind. It’s like I know it’s not normal but I have to accept it - for the reason we know the camera never lies.

On a tangent, I might start using my camera upside down, then invert the result in post. If nothing else it will amuse any bystanders. 🤣

Silver Meteor on the way to Florida. I tried to pan to show motion in the foreground with the background sharper. This was the best shot. Pretty sad, really. IIIf, 50/2.8 Elmar, Tri-X, Rodinal.
