Yes I do like this one very much, just like Phil says. Such a beautiful colour combo haha. But I like it also for the little details. For instance, I have no idea what you do to make the edges of the fields fit so well together. It's technically well done.

What this one brings to my mind though is an image I saw in a book a few decades ago showing how the trajectories of particles that had collided in some CERN-like (or maybe at CERN) accelerator. It was yellow and had a few mesmerising, circular patterns that have stayed with me since that day. I also get some astronomy-related vibes. The upper part could be an inverted image of a galactic region and the lower could depict the cosmic background radiation.

Well if you don't manage to find more Extrafilm I'm certain you'll be able to use Vista equally well. Wonderful reds. And look at how the wet street surface has been rendered. Just yummy.

I agree, Mr Darch must have been a nice chap.

My God, it's full of stars. And green. I like it a lot.

This gets a wow from me Wayne. I've never seen a hummingbird in real life but they must be spectacular animals. This photo has more than only that though. I'm struck by the various lines, from the beak to the wire to the plants at right and then by how the wings mimic the shape of the metal leaf and the leaves on the plants. Then finally the obvious, how you've caught the bird so perfectly as a real-life example of the ornament. Simply great.

Thanks for the compliment and comment Phil. Today I had a funny interaction with the little guy. Wife discovered that the food in the feeder was low and took it down to refill. While she was in the house the hummingbird showed up for a meal. he waited around for two or three  minutes, perching on top of the feeder hanger and starring at me. Almost as if he was laying a guilt trip on me. He flew away when I could no longer suppress my laughter. You are right. Thanks for pointing out how lucky I am to have them buzzing around the flowers. I had begun taking them for granted. They are a wonder of nature.  Very territorial, and aggressive toward their own kind.

Loosing your dog is something very distressing-and the dog looking at us seems to know the trouble it is causing... seemingly simple, it tells a story and brings into memory some stories of the past. That's what a picture can do-if it´s good.

That must be some badass dog. Looks like the kind Darth Vader might keep.

Klaus, you are right. I always feel my shoulders slump when I see a lost dog poster. The worst that ever happened was finding one of the lost dogs (apparently hit by a car) in a roadside ditch, while I was taking my evening stroll. On my stop at the store (bench Photo) I saw the lost dog poster for that dog. My heart really sank. Telling the owner was a real drag.

Phil,

I thought the same thing when the scan results came up.

Best,

Wayne

Very nice shot. I have sometimes wondered if the carnival ride folks draw straws over who has to work the ride that generates the most vomit. :)

Underexposed Portra in this one. Colors are shifted, but to an interesting overall appearance:

Great picture. Nice to see you back, benqui. I missed the  "color" of your contributions in the spectrum of this thread. And: as the saying about old golf players is: apparently you haven't lost your balls out there, where ever that has been and whatever you have been doing... ☺️

what a sad moment... A while ago I picked up an apparently lost and disoriented dog from the roadside. Just stopped with my car and waited until it came to me.. then called the police and they actually found out the owner soon .... so that was a happier outcome.

Christoph, beautiful colors and beautiful light. And the oof background is just right to give an idea about these awe inspiring churches.

I like the results too and especially the light with enough shadow detail to balance the whole.

Dave, long suffering from an auto-immune disease that was slowly destroying his lungs (non-smoker,) underwent a successful lung transplant recently- during Covid- and finally returned home. All the locals organized a parade to welcome him home.
