Today's contribution to Phil's philosophy of Unschaerfe. Flashless, but with a generous dollop of saturation.

Right on target, captain. We're hitting subtraction as we speak in the homeschooling department.

Very nice and shows, in a really impressive Randian way, the power of the stock exchange. Though I've never understood Pinterest. At all.

Love it, the amount of humorous photos on this page is staggering. Shows that a good sense of humour is a requirement for tough times.

I was at a shop during the worst part of the toilet hoarding panic nere in NL and passed equally empty shelves. I overheard an English couple discussing what to do and the gentleman said, picking up a pack of Kleenex, "Well it might be good enough, we'll see" :D

Very nice environmental portrait Pritam. May I ask where in Laos this was?

Lovely colour. If I may be so bold, there is a slight fisheye-ish distortion which affects the verticals and which detracts a little bit. It would be a truly sterling nightscape if straightened up. I can see it printed large on the wall.

I'm impressed Christoph, really lovely.

As I have a print that I like of this image, I finally searched for and found the scanned file, which was made in the 1990s with the first scanner that I had, the Leafscan 45. I had bought it when the Baltimore Sun was getting rid of a batch of them for around $50 each. I took the image in 1998, while living in Tokyo and shortly before I had ever seen any of Daido Moriyama's work. Shortly thereafter I bought Moriyama's small On the Road book, which was first time I saw any of his work: seems I was predisposed to like it.

This is a fantastic example, Christoph! Stunning colors, too. What is a Petzlomo lens?

Thanks Phil, the lomography company designed a few years ago a 2/85 Lens according to the designs of Petzval, a famous lensmaker In the times of Daguerre or thereabouts. That lens knows all about distortion and abberations, etc.

Indeed the opposite. And no dead bulls or bulldancers in Arles. Did you know that the bulls are reared on isolated fields away from human contact, to keep them sharp for the arena?

I didn’t know that. I guess the blokes with the Edward Scissorhands contraptions are raised somewhere away from normal common sense, too. It would take a certain kind of fool...

Thanks, Philip.

We took a bus from Chiang Rai (Thailand) to the Laos border at Huay Xai where we crossed the Mekong into Laos. This place is called Muang Xai and the airport there is called Oudomsay Airport. . . sometimes spelt Oudomxai ! Broadly speaking north Laos. Familiar to you...?

This unscharf talk and your pic here Phil reminds me of Ernst Haas’s bullfighting pictures:
