Doc Henry Posted December 26, 2017 Author Share #44435 Posted December 26, 2017 (edited) Why color of sensor is not satisfying ? The question asked by Carver Mead is still relevantHow can you have a "correct" color when 25% of the light touch only the red and blue pixels and 50% of the light touch the green ? why not 100% ? So looking for a real sensor is still present in 2017 , pending sensor manufacturers lie to us http://v1.zonezero.com/magazine/news/sensor.html in addition the Bayer filter and a monolayer of the sensor have its part of liability in this imperfection ... the result > color is not faithful ... to meditate before buying a digital camera. Someone who uses 8 years of digital M. I will post some comparison examples if you wish Your advice ? Steve Ricoh Posted December 26, 2017 Share #44438 Posted December 26, 2017 Why color of sensor is not satisfying ? Someone who uses 8 years of digital M. I will post some comparison examples if you wish Your advice ? Best Henry Yes I for one would like to see back to back comparison of digital colour v film colour, but there are so many colour films to choose from, each with their own way of rendering, which film. The reason for the bayer having twice as many green compared to red and blue is due to human vision, of course. But it has always appeared perverse to infer colour by computation in the camera and then to reverse the procedure in pp to produce digital B&W. I think B&W film has the edge, and this primarily was the reason for my return to film.
