EoinC Posted December 25, 2017 Share #44342 Posted December 25, 2017 Eoin have you a lighmeter on your Hassy ? At what aperture and speed expos have you ? Very difficult to take this kind of picture Best Henry Hi, Henry. I left my lightmeter behind that day, as I had lost the high slide for it, and it wasn't coping well with the bright NZ light. This shot is grotesquely over-exposed, and goes to a flat, featureless gray when I bring it back down in LR. The SWC is a fixed lens, which combines f/4.5 - 22, and shutter speeds of B, 1s - 1/500s. The problem was the operator, not the camera...

It has a very 1970's-French Connection-NY look to it.

Wayne Posted December 25, 2017 Share #44355 Posted December 25, 2017 The experiment with the film found in old bulk film loader I recently purchased: Marking indicate Kodak Safety Film 5060, which I believe is also known as Pan X. As I understand, ISO rating is 36. This was shot with Zeiss Ikon ZM RF camera (competitor to M7) and Zeiss Jena 50mm 1.5 Sonnar. Process was Rodinal 1/100 for 55 minutes. As this was just to determine film type, and I was expecting nothing but disappointment from the found film, I did not take great care with negative. I also missed focus on the rusty nail. Camera metering was set to ISO 100. I took the same shot at 400 and found that all I had to do was adjust exposure in LR to get almost same result. It can be assumed the film was not stored in refrigerated area. It is a shame this film no longer roams the earth. Welcome, dear visitor! Panatomic X was one of my favourite films in years gone by. I always exposed at box speed (32 ASA). Great find - Enjoying putting it to its intended use...
