Mirror selfies self-portraits, are much more fun when a smartphone isn't used.

These are wonderful self-portraits, Chris. I suspect anyone who has tried to do them would understand that it is not so easy as one may think to get a successful one happening. A number of yours achieve just that.

Back to some Fall leaves from Central Park (this time with Marc Tauber, using his very nifty ground level tripod https://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=details&O=&Q=&ap=y&c3api=1876%2C%7Bcreative%7D%2C%7Bkeyword%7D&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0eSss7DV1wIV3rbACh3sdgh3EAQYASABEgKIN_D_BwE&is=REG&m=Y&sku=1303943 and a 16mm extension tube.

Ektar, 503cw, 80mm Planar

I need to get one of those extension tubes; love the macro shots

I really fell in love with this one leaf.  Marc was not understanding me as a suburbian he pays people to remove these from his yard.  I appreciate him indulging me.

Another Fall scene from Central Park, NYC

Bike ride on levy with young daughter. She was chattering away faster than Dad could respond. Made me smile. And remember.

And then moments later, just a memory. Kind of like your children's childhood.

This pairing of photos, and your thoughts, is incredibly moving Wayne. Strong, strong work.

And it's something I've noticed more of late, a story assists with the digestion of the image, helps it usually.

Most (all?) pictures have a story, and some would say that the image should tell that without any prompting. perhaps it should. But the stories that accompany many of the images here, well they just add to the shot.

Thinking of story telling and potential PENdiptychs. I'm wondering if you have better luck with your Pen f. Mine turned up (mail order) but it was fooked. Film wouldn't wind on properly, counter wouldn't reset, lens wobbly. Sent it straight back to the dealer for a refund.

Slightly better, perhaps, time will tell.

On advice from the forum Pen guru, I bought the "Gothic" style F, it arrived, and while not mint is adequate, all "seems" to work, albeit I have yet to try film through it.

But....... I also fell in love with a black FT with 38mm, and it should be here by now, except Customs have intercepted it, so it is delayed. Additionally I have a 25/4 coming.

Once I have all this in one place I'll give them a workout.

Hope you get your Pen journey underway.

With regard to Olympus Pen and half-frame story telling this might be of interest:-

(Apologies if it has already been mentioned earlier in the thread, which moves at such a pace it is hard to keep up!)

If it has one major flaw, it is that you sometimes forget it is in your pocket. It is that convenient, and compact. All else aside, it is proving to be the most fun camera I have every used. For some reason, the "zone-focus" feature of the Minox is proving to be much less of an obstacle to taking good images than it has proven to be with other such cameras.

And, in point of fact, The Minox subminiature cameras were made in Wetzlar...........And they were owned by Leica for a period of time. So, if making such a statement is a sin, it is a minor sin, at best.

Thanks.
