Still a few boats in the water a couple of weeks ago. (IIIg, 50/2.8 Elmar, HP5+, Rodinal) I'm going back later this week, this time with a roll of XP2 in the Nikon F. I've seen some good results with XP2 in B&W developers here and thought I'd give it a try. I have Rodinal and Ilfotec DD-X. Any suggestions?

Rodinal works fairly well (1+49 for 10-12 mins), but is a tad more grainy than HC-110 (1+49 for 10 minutes). I believe Ilfotec HC is pretty much the same thing, but I have never used DDX.

Interesting series Robert, your trip must have been quite an adventure, this photograph is particularly lovely!

Thank you, I have a lot more if people don't mind me sharing them. It was an adventure, especially as I was about 18 and on my first holiday without parents! To be honest I thought I had no good pictures from the trip as I was just shooting full auto on an SLR but I hope I'll find a couple of diamonds in the rough. Thanks for looking.

I am almost finished a roll of XP2 in my newly acquired XA2, I'm looking forward to seeing the results from HC-110 development.

The first holiday on your own as a young adult is often the most memorable of holidays, I would like to see more of your photographs.

I have started using my Plustek scanner to digitise some of my old negatives from my travels in India. I'm still getting used to using Silverfast so bear with me. I was using a Nikon F80 with a kit zoom at the time, film was Superia 400.

very nice, Robert.  This is a part of the world that I don't see so much of but is supposed to be extremely beautiful.  Thanks for sharing this beautiful landscape.

Thank you, it was indeed a beautiful place. We wouldn't have visited but we were misled by a travel agent in New Dehli, I'm glad we were though it was an amazing place.

The Chidlren of the Militants by Robert Michael Poole, on Flickr

The local children collected firewood for us and begged us for pens and paper. We were told by the local military not to speak to them as they were the children of the militants. There was one militant hiding in the hills close by they informed us. He was very tall and had an AK47 assault rifle. We were safe though they assured us. They had lookouts with machine guns posted on the hills. We were woken that night by the sound of automatic gunfire.
