Ok, ok, what about this??? ;)

From last Friday morning....

503CW, 250mm superachromat, VELVIA 50

for Steve.jpg

Love the compressed perspective approach on this one Adam. It works very well and the contrast is surprisingly low which improves the overall color.

Adam,

On the day I actually started off quite late, maybe 9:30am walking up some paths through a dew filled nature. When I reached the crest of a hill, the morning sun had cleared away the fog on one side of the hill, whereas in the shadow side, the one you see in the picture, the wood was still filled with fog and mystery.

very mysterious, Christoph. Was that fog or just your magic film playing tricks on us?

Jean Marc

This film can indeed capture certain moods very well.

Quite a moody shot, I am impressed by this film !

Henry

Please do try this film. You should be aware of the very coarse grain though, and test it under different lighting conditions first.

But it is fascinating stuff to work with.

I must try this film Christoph deep and nice color

Very beautiful picture with atmosphere well reproduced in film

Best

Henry

Steve

The film here really captured the mood I felt at the time, and yes, it's that bizarre color film.

Really moody .... isn't this the film that delivers purples and all sorts of bizarre colors? Nothing too odd here, just a great capture ....

At this point I will 'sign off' until sometime in November   :o   We are about to depart on our Spanish autumnal sojourn, returning at the end of October.   :)

No opportunity to develop/scan films until mid November.  Amongst other cameras (of a type not to be listed here!) I will be accompanied by my 'new' R5; 35, 60 & 90mm Elmarit-R's, Acros 100, HP5+ & Portra 400 - but on nothing like the scale mentioned by Adam!

Keep up the good work!

2 1/2 months in Spain seems like a lovely long time to take pictures (and do other worthwhile things). Looking forward to your photographic results. Enjoy.

Rgds

I just returned from a three weeks trip to Seattle and yesterday I have started developing the rolls I shot. Pictures from the ferries crossing the Puget Sound are cliche but mandatory!

My son (on in the middle looking up) playing basketball last week, vying for the rebound .... its the urban professional league in NYC, lots of young working people out playing in a league, lots of games, two refs, scorekeeper, all legit and lots of fun -- especially for the dad who misses watching him play when he was in school and college ... get my watching in when I can!!!

Nice picture Steve at the right moment ...  he looks like his father  :)

Thanks  for sharing Steve

Diner stories.

Olympus PEN FT / Zuiko 40mm 1.4

Nice capture of this lady and beautiful color

Another moment.

Olympus PEN FT / Zuiko 40mm 1.4

Half frame camera.

Sewing Machine at Dry cleaners.

First time shooting with this little gem. I must say I am really impressed. The camera handles beautifully, is built like a tank and obviously those Zuiko lenses are so much pleasure to work with. Highly recommended.  It feels a bit like an M3. Not sure why but that's my impression.

I know just what you mean - one of those cameras that feels right and inspires you with confidence that you will go out and take great photos. We've had an FT in the family since 1977, and since its meter is now inaccurate without mercury batteries, I decided to get a Pen F, which has no meter but a much brighter viewfinder (since no light is directed away to the meter). The only issue is that I simply can't find subjects for 72 photographs!

You have a very pleasing grain in these photos - the half-frame negatives are much happier with C-41 and chromogenic films. They get a bit gritty with traditional b&w film.

This thread is so constantly wonderful to visit.

Here's one from the archives. Taken Easter 1979 during an open-air concert at the Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne. This is Tim Finn of the zany but incredible New Zealand band Split Enz:

Another archival shot, this one from a dozen or so years ago. We were doing a modelling portfolio for Phoebe and her sister. This was during a break - I was inside having a glass of water and Phoebe was talking with the lady who was doing the hair and makeup. I really liked her expression here and took this through the kitchen window, and it became our favourite of the session:

Thanks, Edward.

This year it was a hazy summer.  Even with the strong morning sun shining directly on the mountains (which are due west) the definition in the mountains was not strongly prominent.  So I was a little worried about whether I would get a bluish hazy mess with the Velvia 50.  But the Velvia  (perhaps with the help of a UV filter) cut right through the haze, but this could be what you are picking up with regard to low contrast.  In any case, the scene blew me away when I saw it, and the slide didn't disappoint!  Thanks again!

Amazing, Phil.

The first looks like Elvis.

The one with the lawn mower could easily be from the early sixties.  The TV show "Brady Bunch" comes to mind.  LOVE the colors and the random subject and pose.  Thanks for sharing.
