Tiberius - welcome. I am similar. It's been a while since i have shot some film (although I did recently in July). I'm trying to get back into it and concentrate less on digital. I still shoot and appreciate some of the advantages of digital, but in the end it's the aesthetics of film that has more impact for me.

How do you like the Q? I have both X1 and X2...bought them both used for very good prices  - X2 (hardly used) for $250 just last week in fact! The previous owner bought the Q. I also bought the X1 from the same person a few years ago. It came with 2 cases and the 35mm optical shoe mount finder. So at this rate I can expect the Q in a couple years for a really good price

I recently did a shoot with the H50 Hasselblad, and it's a beast of a camera in tech and spec, wifi sent images right to an iPad for evaluating in the field, etc...but to be honest, it left me a bit cold in shooting. I guess if I did regular commercial shoots, it would be my tool of choice, but I enjoy the tactile experience with mechanical analog film cameras.

GNU I have nothing to add about your comment ...

practical yes for hurry gentleman and lady it's all :)

Color not faithful (see my several comparison posts above)

I know I will have ennemies ... but it's the truth !

That said you do what you think good for you

GN and I add the H50 still has the digital side when watching , in general rendering ie smoothed pixels

... line and edges hypersharp you can see immediatly  ... finally a "flat" picture .. the robot camera has

no "nuance" and cannot distinguish it .

Hello Gnuyork,

the Q is a fantastic camera. Before buying it I was used my Leica M8 (and the M6 too) with a 28 Elmarit Asph and a 35 Summarit (+ my 50 and my 90 Summicron). I sold the 28 and the 35 to by the Q for 2 reasons : I wanted an autofocus camera to take pictures of my daughters more easiliy, and I wanted to have better image quality in dark conditions. The quality and the pleasure to use of the Q are really good and, for me, it is really great to shoot with both my Leica M8.2 and my Leica Q.

GNU "Aravis Moutain Range" (3200m)  , look in Google.

For trekking , take a guide with you or go with friends who know this place.

In spring  and sometimes in summer , you can have heavy fog and you can

be lost.  I recommand you this nice place . 3 or 4 days are enough

Wonderful and lovely color pictures , specially picture 1

You know what I like film ? because the edges and lines of the baby face

and arm are "soft" , not hypersharp ! ... and color of skin is great

> advantage film (I mean without correction usually the  case in digital)

Great moment and great memories.

Superb purple color in picture 2

Kentmere is a bit different of Kodak TX but it's nice too

The grain is very nice and gives a plus for stone.

Thank you Greg for posting

Thank you Henry, the baby is not hard to photograph soft. It is all she is...and blubber :)

I quite like the K400, it works well in the often grey light we get in the Pennines year round!
