blackandwhite Posted July 20, 2017 Share #36562 Posted July 20, 2017 Here one picture of Henri Cartier Bresson when young , with his Leica screw mount may be a Leica I A * ? Jean-Marie or you , can tell us L1010754-2lf++++1000.jpg Best Henry * https://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/Leica_I_(model_A) Dear Henry, Henri Cartier-Bresson owned several Leicas. Here is a picture of one of his first - maybe the very first - Leica he owned. ( From the Book by Morvan +Savoia : Cartier-Bresson Allemagne 1945 ( edited by Magnum Photos and Fondation HCB , éditions Dupuis). So yes, it is a Leica 1A, later model, with the higher shoot button and cable-release possibility. These Leicas were equipped with the Elmar lens, but not yet screw screw-mount cameras. The B-Leicas, 1 and 2 same period, were equipped with Elmar lens and Compur Shutter. Then came the Leica 1C, in 1932, first Leica with Elmar and screw mount. These informations I have found in G.Rogliatti, Leica 1925-1975, Ein Handbuch für Sammler ( a collector's manual) Edita, Lausanne . ( Original Edition: Leica - The First Fifty Years ( second edition) Hove Camera Foto Books, UK I hope You do forgive me the digital picture for this time...;-) Jean-Marie Welcome, dear visitor! christoph_d Posted July 21, 2017 Share #36570 Posted July 21, 2017 Well captured, in word and picture. I love it! I did wonder about the whereabouts of the daily catch ! Leica M6TTL, 50mm Summicron, Ilford XP2 LOL & Thx ... Thanks, Christoph. Unlike some people whom I know, I state the film stock used quite prominently just above my photo. (LOL ) It was Tri-X. ... Truly amazing colours, I think the light and/or pp you chose gives these pictures a slight cross-processed feel. And your composition and choice of focal length well matches the subject. And here another Beetle. At the front bumper you see the typical red halo of the Cinestill: Bild-1-46.jpg Nice scene, and lovely tones. Doc Henry Posted July 21, 2017 Author Share #36580 Posted July 21, 2017 (edited) Japanese Tea House, Les Jardins Quatre Vents, Cap à l’aigle, Québec. This is in a magnificent private garden that was created by Francis Cabot in the last 30 or so years. A Japanese craftsman built the Tea House over a 4-year period. The wood was hand picked, dried for two years; the joinery is all traditional – no nails or screws, or glues. Just tradition. Francis Cabot was one of the Boston Cabots, who apparently only talked to the Lodges (who only talked to God), so it used to be said. No shortage of cash, and it subtly shows. XP2 Very nice and relaxing picture Michel Very nice black and grey tones Great story of this place Thank you Best Henry Edited July 21, 2017 by Doc Henry
