Wonderful! Which developer did you use? I've just got some rolls of this film in 120, and wondering if it'll work fine with HC110. But love the grain you've got out of it!

Love film, I own a Leica R8 with a 60 mm Elmarit macro lens and Leica IIIf with a 50 mm summar lens from 1935, uncoated, pre war

Smartn , you're right and no stress for sensor or another problem (moiré, banding , dusts ..)

no shutter syndrome

Please post here your pictures and Welcome :)

Nice purple. It is hard to choose between Superia and Vista.

Wayne , I think you choose the less expensive

Edward show us in street photos with Vista and for nature flowers or another

natural subjects take Fuji :)

Both are nice

Olympus made a nice telescopic extension tube to go with dedicated macro lenses:

But some things are too big to fit!

I think you are right about the expense. Both are very reasonably priced. I believe I prefer the Vista in bright light and Fuji in more subdued lighting.

Thank you Henry, I hadn't seen this. It's of course a wonderful development and I might try it sometime. I am not thrilled about the bit about slightly visible grain though. I shoot chromes to avoid that. Also, I was under the impression that transparency film which is exposed at something other than box speed needs different development. If that's true, how cannot the result not suffer if this film is meant to be developed without adjustment in development regardless of which EI within the 200-400 span the film was shot at? Then there's the question if this really is a new emulsion or a rebranding of some old stock they got their hands on. I saw someone suggest it's Agfa RSX II, but who knows.

Anyway, what's good is that film lives and that people are intent on keeping it that way.

Boat people... I remember I took 4 or 5 shots of this scene.

The last one shown here worked. It was also the last one on the roll of film.  :)

Philip, the best is to purchase some rolls and test

I'll order 1 or 2 rolls  just to see the color

Some more information :)

NYC June 2017. I can't remember which film or lens but I like the detail in this one ... not that you really see it in the compressed jpeg!

That is a spectacularly sharp image. My hat is off to your ability.

Thanks,

That was my standard everyday colour film, Fuji Superia 400. Just like this:

Yes, the Miata is Japanese, made by Mazda in Hiroshima. I bought this one in 1991, and it is bright red rather than grey:
