My wife had been examining the thing and talking about renewing the fence around the garden, to protect newly planted asparagus roots............Rabbits. They are bad this year. More than any portrait of her, this photograph makes me think about my wife: asparagus roots, disgust with invading rabbits, fascination with a simple bulb.
