stray cat Posted June 8, 2017 Share #34001 Posted June 8, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Phil I'm now convinced that the problem comes from the emulsion side was down and not up. the lines match the bottom of the developing tray...........I will go out today and shoot something else and make sure the neg is the correct way up. Its a shame though as I enjoy shooting flowers with a nice glass of Red Wine :) Neil On the other hand, if you have to reshoot the flowers, that's another glass of red wine... Its a shame though as I enjoy shooting flowers with a nice glass of Red Wine :) Neil Neil film is faithful and reproduces what you shoot. May be reflection or superposition of 2 photos. I don't think that's the development problem Best Henry Edited June 8, 2017 by Doc Henry
Doc Henry Posted June 8, 2017 Author Share #34003 Posted June 8, 2017 (edited) Random photo from recent batch. Pewsey Downs again. I quite like the sky in some of these, how the film retains just enough colour and tone. Benefits of a "pro" film stock. Nearby Gopher Wood. Usual kit. I reckon Henry will appreciate the greens. Another Portra sky with highlight retention. View from Pewsey Downs above Oare. Salisbury Plain is somewhere in the far distance. Three pictures, three different compositions but superb color and nice landscape. The contre jour is wonderful , the green and its palette is beautiful ! The general rendering of Portra is unique no equivalent elsewhere Thank you for posting Ian specially the contre-jour Best Henry Edited June 8, 2017 by Doc Henry

Doc Henry Posted June 8, 2017 Author Share #34005 Posted June 8, 2017 (edited) Those of you who are drooling of boredom after seeing the same scene from me for the past week or so can blame Christoph for egging me on! LOL But this doesn't demonstrate the unique color and light effect that sometime we do indeed just sit by and let pass us by... Lingering post-sunset skyfire.... SWC, Ektar. jersey AGAIN.jpg Nice reflection Adam and faithful image with no correction contrary to the corrected images in digital camera , where a photo of night is like the day ! Thank you for posting. The color and its palette are very superb > advantage Ektar film Best Henry Edited June 8, 2017 by Doc Henry

philipus Posted June 8, 2017 Share #34012 Posted June 8, 2017 I hesitate to post this in light of the recent terrible events in the UK, because what happened in Stockholm on the spot where all the post-its have been put up was much less severe. But regardless of where terror hits, perhaps it is as the sign in the second photo says that everything will be all right. It reminds me of what is often repeated on the (fantastic) Kermode and Mayo radio show that "everything will be all right in the end. And if it is not all right then it is not the end". The backlit flowers on those grasses in the centre seem to scintillate. There is something very special happens when you use that 28mm and Portra 400.
