A rare bit of black and white for me this year (I have been firmly in a colour frame of mind for months).

Some exuberant Cow Parsley at Hinton Ampner in Hampshire. T-max 400 and 28 Summaron-M.

And some more Cow Parsley – in colour. This time along the River Stort Navigation near Roydon. Portra 400.

I like both Ian !

the first for nice black ,grey scale and details in the shadows :)

the second for the color , the contre-jour (thank you Ian) and the nuance in color specially green :)

Thank you

Henry

Here another rare film from 1985. Ilford Ilfocolor HR100. Officially this film was not available in Germany, but I could buy it at my photo dealer. No idea how he got it. The only color-film from Ilford I know. Guess it must be from a japanese manufacturer.

Frank I don't know that Ilford made color film :)

Very nice green

A photo I wouldn't normally take – midday in uninteresting light – but the subject is one I couldn't ignore. Not quite so rare in this particular part of the world (especially in neighbouring Wiltshire) though still uncommon, the Burnt Orchid (Neotinea Ustulata) is one of the more distinctive orchids left in the wild. This group was on the wonderful Martin Down nature reserve south of Salisbury. Before the advent of 20th century industrialised agriculture, it would not have been uncommon to have fields with many thousands of these (and other orchids) growing.

90 Macro Elmar-M and Portra 400.

after seeing that....... got me thinking my M6 would be a good accomplishment for the 8x10 rather than lugging the 503. What do you think?? I would have to learn how to load that frigging 135 film again :) :) :)

Most certainly, Neil. I couldn't imagine lugging an 8X10 AND a Hasselblad! Loading 35mm film into the Leica is not so bad... once you get used to it (and lose a roll or so along the way - THEN you learn fast!).

looking forward to seeing the pictures

So am I!

Looks good Phil.

I'm going through the same process as well, Europe soon.

Gary

I'm looking forward to seeing those photos of yours from Europe, Gary. Should be an amazing journey - especially meeting the Doc!

Phil it's great .  I am jealous :D

All Leica lens and camera , congrats !

Good photos and hope it's sunny today :)

H.

iPhone has Sony sensor :)

Thanks Henry. I have to admit I prefer using the Leica to any of the other gear I have.

Take note, Leica - you can send me free gear in exchange for that overt product placement!

Phil is it the 50 mm at right or the 90 mm ?

Henry

Henry - these are great films, aren't they. I could probably have leaned towards Portra 400, but I quite like the look of the 160 - it's subtly different to the look of the 400 I think. And it's cheaper.

That's a 90mm on the right. There's a 50mm on the left though.
