T.. A most excellent tour guide! Endearing herself to me when, and with a big smile, upon seeing me load new film into my camera: "Oh! It has been years since I have seen somebody do that."

Wisner 4x5 TMAX100

Exposure f45 10 seconds
(metered exposure was f45 1.5 sec. I added 2 stops to get into zone 7 plus 2/3rds stop for bellows factor
Developed for 7 sec at 19 deg which was -15%
Scanned using Epson V850 and cleaned up in PScc
My plan is to take the same picture today on 8x10 and make a contact print...........
All in all very happy with the outcome

Some more thoughts on my visit to the tattoo event in Melbourne. When I had finished my challenge roll, I bought a ticket and went inside.

Three things struck me on my wanderings in the Royal Exhibition Building.

Firstly, for those who know it, the exhibition building is rather big, and it was filled front to end with stalls of tattoo artists practicing their art. Stall after stall and every second one or so occupied with someone getting tattooed.

Secondly, the casual nature of tattooing. A tattoo arguably changes the appearance of the wearer forever, which I found was contrasted by the casual nature of the visible procedure.

Thirdly, in line with my second point, I was surprised at the rough and ready environment created at the stalls. True, it was a fair and not a shop environment, still, for a procedure that affects my body I would expect a rather clinical appearance. But probably the actual status is also part of a subculture that I am obviously not part of -  I have to remember to ask those questions next time.

First thank you Christoph for posting your work  :)

The rendering is also wonderful here in comparison with your IR film

As you show us the tatoo the human skin is in first line , and film gives really a plus for skin

Skin aspect with tatoo is also very nice in black and white :)

I would like to bring you my testimony that climate warming is not a TV game.

It actually happens every day, in all countries in the world and especially in South East Asia.

I was on mission for several years and I noticed that at the last mission we were working under extremely difficult

conditions under the heat . I am the visual witness and you can not tell me I lie !

Here are some pictures I took during this medical humanitarian mission.

I care the mother of this gentleman , responsible for monitoring the basin of water ,the size of a large lake. During

a break,  he took me to see the reservoir where the water source is and he told me that the water becomes very

difficult to find, its source decreases from year to year , as you can see from the level of the water in background

and according to him, it will go down again. The population may no longer have water in the years to come, there

will be misery and famine. In addition it does not rain, it is drought and the outside temperature is 41 ° C the heat

wave !

Fields and ponds are dry, no water. The lock you see on the two photos below is raised but since there is

no water , the fields are dry !

Leica M7 (works under heat wave) - Summilux 35 Asph-Kodak Portra 160

attachicon.gifImage15vntamkkodektalfht++++550.jpg

Under heat wave  41°- 44°C  , you must walk, our air condtioned minibus cannot continue on this narrow road.

I had 41 °C in the shadow, under the tree  !

This series has evolved wonderfully, Christoph. This picture, especially, is fantastic. Put them together with your thoughts and observations and you have an intriguing and beatifully-observed reportage of a fascinating event.

These two are among your best, Wayne. The quiet reflectiveness that we're afforded by these pictures over a way of life that we can't possibly know is a gift that well-observed pictures such as these afford us.

Wayne , contrast and definition are outstanding. So it's Fuji Natura 1600.

Good lens Summicron 28 A + good camera M7 + good film = nice result  :D

I agree with Phil's comment  :)

The grain us very fine and the color is really superb
