Henry. Is it okay to post contact prints on here? And if so can they be scanned or should we take a picture of them with a Leica camera??

Thanks

Neil

Fight between "M Monochrom (left) and M9 Analog film (right)"

Both are always in my Billingham bag and I am happy with them :)

Never missed a single photo when shooting and specially pictures in contre jour

I like this color in background a bit unusual but nice, may be it's natural

It gives a beautiful contrast with the color foreground

Very nice street photo :)

I visited this wall in 2005 and I also have some pictures in color.

But I think in b&w like you show here it's more adapted

Very nice b&w pictures.

Epson V700 is a good scan for b&w in 24x36 or in MF. It works very well

with ANR glass

Thanks for posting Ratz

Henry,

thank you very much for you kind comments. Regarding to the photo from Frankfurt. I made a manual correction of the white balance on white paper on the right side. Believe me, it looks better than the version of scanning. On the other hand, it was in the afternoon in October 2016. I remember me, that sometimes the light was "strange" in this time.

You are absolutely right. The Epson V700 is a really scanner and I am happy that I bought this scanner together withe ANR-Glass for 35mm and for the 120.

This is a picture my wife shot with her M4 this winter.

Leica M4, Tri-X 400.  and: these pics are scans of the film at the moment, not yet paper print scans.

South of France, Cap Dramont.

So, film freaks, and I suppose this could easily be placed in the film forum, or darkroom forum, but I figured I'd ask here.

I have all but accepted that I will try E-6 processing, plucked up the courage etc, and now find acquiring the chemicals is not as straight-forward as I supposed.

My two go-to sellers, MacoDirect in Germany and Freestyle in the US both stock and sell, but neither will ship to me.

Those that process E-6, and are not in the EU or US, where/how do you source the chemicals?

Gary

Perhaps you can ask at Fotoimpex, Berlin? https://www.fotoimpex.de/shopen/chemistry/tetenal-colortec-e6-kit-for-tank-or-rotation-3-baths-for-30-films.html

Or directly at tetenal: https://shop.tetenal.de/de/agr/100000/colortec-e-6-3-bad-2-5-l

Very nice Henry! Indeed Vietnamese temples are related to China architecturally speaking, while Thai architectural style is different (Burmese and Khmer influences).

Thank you Frank, I sent Tetenal a message asking about a local agent.

Also I did a quick "buy these chemicals" and got through to the payment stage, so it looks good. €85 shipped. It's up there price-wise, but might be the only way, other than sending them across to Sydney, or just biting the bullet and getting them done locally.

One thing that I don't know, and has a major factor. I would envisage shooting a roll, perhaps two, then processing. I do this with B&W, and sometimes can go a month without processing, possibly more, then when I have a few rolls, (after my Europe trip for example). Will the chemicals "last", can I do similar to what I do with Rodinal (R09) and keep them for a while?

Still waiting (im)patiently for the return of my new loves from their CLA. In the meantime, here's an old Fujichrome from 1978. My parents retired to a smallholding in Wales in 1976, just as I set off for London and med school. I don't remember the exact circumstances, but one warm afternoon my father - a retired civil engineer - ended up cuddling a goat kid while tolerating Pippa snoozing next to him after playing him some classical guitar. Beyond that, don't blame me; I was just the guy with a camera.

I like this picture very much Chris , one lovely picture taken at the right moment

and who shows us one "frozen" moment of his life . A great memories picture !

2017-1978 = 39 years and still beautiful to watch . I don't know if my digit

pictures taken with my M9 can give us such beautiful picture after all these decades

Computer and Windows OS may be obsolete in 29 years

Gary you can keep 6 months once opened bottles

It is  better fractionated  into 500ml for a 500ml paterson tank for 1 roll (or 1 liter for 2 rolls)

Then the savings go completely out the window Henry, as in 6 months I'd be lucky to shoot and process 6 rolls. It's a 30 roll kit, and the economy falls over if you only use part of it. The beauty of R09/Rodinal I suppose.

The commercial processing will suffice for a while I think. If E-6 use really returns to me, then I'll consider it some more.

A worthwhile exercise this though, healthy discussion.

Thank you Edward . I am always fascinated by the style of these pagodas in Thailand or VN.

A great work and color is really vivid as you show us in your pictures
