Did another look in my archive. Here some example from an Agfacolor 100.

If I recall correctly the first film from the western Agfa Leverkusen with what the switched from their Agfa-Color process to Kodak C-41 in 1983. Colors also faded. Compared to the ORWO QRS 100 I would say, they did quite a good job in Wolfen.

Was even harder to scan then the ORWO. But Agfa Leverkusen introduced some better films shortly after that. About 1-2 years later.

Still waiting (im)patiently for the return of my new loves from their CLA. In the meantime, here's an old Fujichrome from 1978. My parents retired to a smallholding in Wales in 1976, just as I set off for London and med school. I don't remember the exact circumstances, but one warm afternoon my father - a retired civil engineer - ended up cuddling a goat kid while tolerating Pippa snoozing next to him after playing him some classical guitar. Beyond that, don't blame me; I was just the guy with a camera.

These are compelling images, Christoph, and I tend to agree with Gregor (Ratzfatz) that they may be among your best of the tattoo series. Again, the contrast inherent in the tattoos against the skin tone brought about largely by the use of the IR film is beautifully realized.

Since we are reminiscing about olde films, I found this old pair of 6x6 negs, so likely from my Rolleiflex T.

One was a pic I took of my grand parents in the late 70's/early 80's, the other this one of an equally old aircraft (SA315).

Gary, you could maybe try contacting Tetenal direct and ask if they have a stockist in NZ.

If you like, I can call Vsanbars in the morning and ask if they will ship to NZ from Oz, but I doubt it. It is postal regulations rather than a store policy.

You got me thinking, so I checked the link you provided.

 

It's a Tetenal Colourteck kit, and would do the trick for sure.

It's AU$124, or GST-Ex AU$113.

 

If that's not enough, the shipping option gives me a price of either $60, or $189, I haven't decided if it will allow the $60 shipping.

 

Either way, buying a kit for "about" AU$180 to process E-6 is ludicrous, especially when Freestyle list the Arista kit US$34. Call me Scrooge if you like, but I get the feeling we are being shafted.

My feeling totally about Vanbar, not a fan and their website is some 1990s template gone bad.

 

Is there nowhere local that processes it Gary? We have a lab here in Sydney that does $7.50AUD a roll for E-6. For my infrequent use, that's easily good enough to make the hassle of doing it in house a no go (refer my first line.)

Yup, the site is not the best, that was the good part, my son is a web designer, and I reckon he'd cringe.

 

Mind you, I'm on a search for another A-12 back, a cost effective one, so cheeeeep. Checked KEH, typed in "A-12" in the search, got two pages of out of stock, with about 6 in stock items on the two pages. Plan B.

 

Yes, there is a place in Auckland, dip and dunk too, but at $25 a roll. Gouging? Dunno, but right now I have Hobson's Choice anyway.  It can sit in the freezer once it arrives. I had it earmarked for use in a new incoming toy, but I'll sit tight until I get the processing ducks in a row.

 

Mind you, it would be cheaper to shoot a few, and mail them across the Tasman. Might look at that even. If I do I'll e-mail you, mucho gratis.

I'd be happy to hook you up should it come to it Gary, I know my eyes lit up when I saw they were doing E-6 at the same price as C-41 and all formats.

I know they do mail order but if postage back your way is a hassle, it's no drama to pick it up/mail it your way, I work 100yds from a Post Office.

I spent last night making contact sheets of my last 8 rolls. Starting to reach a quandary in my workflow as to whether to bother scanning B&W at all, since it takes up enlarging time, means double-handling and doesn't really contribute to reading/understanding my negative. Might be a lot more colour to come from me here once I exhaust current scanned reserves.

You and that cursed Adam Miller have me chaffing at the SWC bit. While I will always struggle to turn out golden hour shots like he does, your mono stuff is also exceptional, you'd have to be happy with the way it's working.

 

I really need to get mine out and get a bit more familiar, certainly before it goes on holiday.

Gary ,speaking about price, for your information,  the price in France is 50 Euros the box E6 for 2.5 L

same price for C41. I fractionated by 5 and I prepare 500ml each time makes me about 8 rolls Portra

I calculated that comes to me ,  1 Euro one roll (versus 4 or 7 Euros by ext lab) if developing myself

Richard not expensive IMO but I think it's cheaper if you do yourself

In C41 my lab asks 4 E another lab 7 Euros

For Gary , here are my three anti X-Ray bags I have with me in the plane 

during all my last humanitarian missions . So I bring back successfully all

my impressed rolls of color and b&w film with no veil in developed photos

and all is safe

I like color in both pictures Frank.

Green grass in second picture is fine for me deep and vivid ... like Kodak green
