Yes Monte, I figured you'd spot it, we absolutely loved the stay we had in Loco. Loved the people, loved the area.

Of course, on holiday, as a tourist everywhere can look appealing. Photos to be had everywhere though, Matera especially was a wonderful experience.

So, film freaks, and I suppose this could easily be placed in the film forum, or darkroom forum, but I figured I'd ask here.

I have all but accepted that I will try E-6 processing, plucked up the courage etc, and now find acquiring the chemicals is not as straight-forward as I supposed.

My two go-to sellers, MacoDirect in Germany and Freestyle in the US both stock and sell, but neither will ship to me.

Those that process E-6, and are not in the EU or US, where/how do you source the chemicals?

I agree, everything looks better during holidays. We (locals) are pretty much used to this kind of views and architecture.

Matera is incredible, although the story beneath the stone houses is kind of sad ... people and animals living together in the caves and in poor conditions untill mid 1900.

Matera was chosen to be European Capital of Culture for 2019. http://www.matera-basilicata2019.it/en/

Later today I'm going to see an exposition of Piergiorgio Branzi, an Italian journalist/photographer who toured Puglia in the 50s on a motorbike and with a Leica M3. His photographs look interesting online.

Besides the M6, lately I have been shooting with an old Mamiya 645. It's the only medium format camera I have. I really like the large negatives! Scans are so much better on the Epson V600 compared to 35mm.

Great shots, Antonio, and proof that the bigger negative really does capture more in terms of tone and detail as can 35mm. I used to have a Mamiya 645 system and really enjoyed it - very portable and wonderful quality. What film was this?

I don't know if it will help you in New Zealand, Gary, but Vanbar here in Melbourne sell Tetenal kits: https://www.vanbar.com.au/catalogue/index.php?item1=CHEMISTRY&item2=COLOR&item3=FILM

It was Trix400 stock. Lately I've been shooting only Trix400 and some FP4. I'm probably going to buy some more HP5 and mix a little bit, but I have to say that Trix400 works pretty well. Also the 35mm seems easier to load in the reels while HP5 gets stuck at 70-80% ... although it's probably me.

I can't get liquid kits shipped to me in Canada, so I don't use Tetenal products. The powder kit for E6 doesn't seem to have restrictions, and I have a source in Canada (argentix.ca). If all else fails, you could e-mail Jacques Brodeur at info@argentix.ca and ask if he will ship to you.

In addition to what Chris and Phil said , Gary , you can have developer C41 in powder too :

https://www.amazon.com/Ultrafine-Unicolor-Powder-Developer-Liter/dp/B00OU6LXUG

Macodirect Germany don't want to send liquid

For E6 you must ask Vanbar as said Phil :)

Gary, you could maybe try contacting Tetenal direct and ask if they have a stockist in NZ.

If you like, I can call Vsanbars in the morning and ask if they will ship to NZ from Oz, but I doubt it. It is postal regulations rather than a store policy.

Love the tones in this picture. What film was used?

Thank you, Ilford FP4 Plus developped in ID 11 1+1 11 min. Scanned with Nikon Coolscan 9000 EE and no post processing.

I'm back to film too, the reason? I've been back in the darkroom doing Silver Gelatin Prints for my next exhibition, these prints show the true qualities of the film, if you look only the pictures on a monitor the difference is not so noticeable, but when you do an enlargement from film and you look at that amazing quality, it's unique. I'm very happy with my Leica Monochrom but when do you print inkjet the quality is not the same. Right now I'm doing Dihital Negatives and printing in Silver Gelatin Paper making contacts, it's very nice, but in my opinion, the film and the timeless negative are still better.

Regards

Lluis
