These are outstanding, Philip. You so obviously enjoyed your excursions in the savannah, and that 200mm certainly paid its way! Superb wildlife photos and I hope you have more. And giraffes are just so adorable!

Sunday morning, temperatures around 45 Fahrenheit, clean air. I noticed S, welder, watching from his front yard. He looked curious so I walked over and introduced myself. Great guy. Owns Japanese Akita (Dog); told me where I could take my two old, tube television sets- now over a decade taking up space in my garage- for proper disposal.

A wonderful portrait, Wayne, of an interesting character. A great example of the camera facilitating an encounter with another human being, and you both walking away enriched from the experience.

Wayne,

totally agree with Phil. A wonderful and very interesting portrait ... Great and well done.

Best

Gregor

Thank you for the compliments. I notice, the older the camera, the easier it is to get folks to open up. Here, the standard comment/question: "Can you still buy film?" was part of the conversation. I do love these unplanned portrait opportunities.

Yikes! Made me think of a famous (and posthumous) sequence of film photographs taken from inside a helicopter as it was shot down and crashed. I thought it was from the Vietnam war but perhaps I've mis-remembered as I couldn't find anything on Google.

Searching for it did lead me to this very long and interesting article about photographers in the Vietnam war, there is a Leica reference in there so not totally OT, but excuse my ramble.

"Velodrome". Ha! Are madison throws allowed?

SA ,  Adam will like your comment :D

Yes, it sort of crosses all obstacles to communication related to differing languages.....A sort of a Tower of Babel. :)

Wayne , as at the Olympic Games of Ancient Greece where almost naked athletes race not easy to run

A beautiful show ! :)

Sexodrome , it's the same right ? :D

Still trying to find the film I like the best, this is HP5 rated at 400 and develooped in ilfosol 3 for 6.5 minutes. Shot on my M4-2 and Canon Serenar 50mm f1.5. Still quite grainy like the TX but i lke the tones in the shadows.
