EoinC Posted May 7, 2017 Share #32181 Posted May 7, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) ...(is it an f1.8 version?)... Hi, Phil. It's a f/1.2. It has AF, which is pretty slow, but it's a 'focus-by-wire' lens, so MF is a poor option. It's a lovely lens, though.

A miller Posted May 7, 2017 Share #32192 Posted May 7, 2017 Thanks, Eoin, Ian, Henry, Gary, Philip and Phil. Sometimes the Provia 100F delivers on colors with the punch of Velvia 50 but then also provides its usual better dynamic range. Best of both worlds. Wow! Nices ones, Steve. With the landscapes, its like looking at photos from Keith, Ian, Henry and Steve Walton all wrapped into one! LOL! Welcome back! a little more .... and now the view from dunkery beacon in exmoor ... Gorgeous yellow Adam Thanks Henry Taxi coloured tulips. Also seem to go nicely with your traffic lights. Great results with the Provia 100, Adam! As you can see, one of these didn't want to co-operate but ignored me completely, and rather rudely, too Shot with my standard 200/2.8L on Velvia 50. And a big wow from me too. SWC? Close-up machine. Gary This is so beautiful, Adam. New York must be a great place to be right now.

Wayne Posted May 7, 2017 Share #32200 Posted May 7, 2017 (edited) Nice table Wayne for Gen Lee and thanks for the contre-jour not easy but it gives a nice aspect for one picture. Great historic story of civil war in the States with many people died in this war Thanks for posting Wayne Rg Henry Yes. You have hit on something that is a point of common discussion concerning the event. Of the many things about U.S. Grant, his victory notwhithstanding, that are admirable, probably the one thing that I find most interesting about him is the fact that he was unpretentious. Lee arrived at the surrender location first, and likely selected the lager, marble table. Historians submit, knowing Grant's character, he would likely have taken the smaller table, even if he had the choice of the two. Prior to visiting Appomattox, I toured the Museum of the Confederate Army. My choice of souvenir............a small bust of U.S. Grant.
