Guest Posted April 28, 2017 Share #31481 Posted April 28, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi All , just pass M10 thread , I see this thread of Nowhereman http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/268393-m10-color-rendition-compared-to-m9-m240-sl-cameras/ That's the proof it has something not satisfying in color for the sensor. As I said above, spectrum of sensor curve and spectrum of eyes curve* do not match in comparison and as long as it does not match , we will always have a problem of similarity This is valid for Leica and for all other digital brands... NHM speaks about color of skin in digital... Henry - You've missed my point, which is in the very first posting in the thread you linked. I wrote, "One of the reasons that I didn't buy the M240 was its color rendition compared to that of the M9. My view was reinforced reading posts by two photographers with excellent color vision and perhaps the same taste in color as I have: Marc Williams ("fotografz") and Charles Peterson. I don't want to refight old battles, but they both felt essentially that, if you fixed the [M240] colors you wanted (say, skin tones), other colors would go out of whack..." In other words, I didn't have a skin tone problem with the M9; nor do I have one with the M10, which, in my view, has some color rendition improvements the give still more flexibility in processing than the M9. I made no overall statement on digital cameras having problems with skin tones. More generally, I find your continuous bashing of digital a detriment to this thread — but you know that, for I have written so several times. I could post here an M10 picture showing excellent skin color, apparent "grain" in highlights and the rendition of "pores" in the skin, which you seem to think cannot be done with digital, but there is no point in doing so. I would have thought that seeing good, and some excellent, film shot should be sufficient for this thread. Cheers, Mitch

wattsy Posted April 28, 2017 Share #31486 Posted April 28, 2017 Too much chit chat and not enough photos. Back to flowers. In the UK the Pasque flower is now uncommon and is limited to chalk or limestone grassland that is grazed just right (not too much, not too little). Therfield Heath in Hertfordshire has probably the best remaining display of these flowers – certainly it must have the greatest numbers in one place – and this year's show was stunning by any measure. chrism Posted April 28, 2017 Share #31492 Posted April 28, 2017 I bought an OM2n a couple of years ago and never got around to playing with it. I was so jealous of my brother's OM1 back in the early seventies, and I'm beginning to remember why. wattsy Posted April 28, 2017 Share #31493 Posted April 28, 2017 Spring has taken on a decidedly wintrier feel in the last week or so (there have been frosts overnight this week). Wayne Posted April 28, 2017 Share #31498 Posted April 28, 2017 Out walking about in "Deep America" when I saw red and thought of Henry. While composing, the gentleman rushed out of the door: WHY ARE YOU TAKING PICTURES OF MY HOUSE?" I showed him my old film camera, told him it was a hobby, and loved taking shots of different shades of red. He became friendly and curious, and we talked about film for a few minutes. He was amazed folks were still using it. Ultimately he let me take the photo, which I ruined by getting my finger near the lens. M3, 50 Summicron DR, Svema 120 Color. Welcome, dear visitor! Wayne Posted April 28, 2017 Share #31499 Posted April 28, 2017 Immediately following my encounter with the gentleman in previous post, I ran into this young man who peddled right up and asked if he could have my camera. I struck a bargain: he lets me take his photograph, and I let him use the camera to take a shot of me. Welcome, dear visitor!
