Kodak TX400-Leica R4S-50 Summicron

You notice that "black is black" , homogeneous in film , "no banding" and inhomogeneous  like in digital

I call that " deep black"

Best

Henry

But you had some doubts before, that black would be black, Henry ;) ;) ;)

Just to submit you these pictures I took for comparison

Kodak TMAX400-Leica MP-35 Summicron Asph

and Kodak TX400-Leica R4S-Summicron 50

developed in same developer pure Prof D76 at 22°C

Pictures uncorrected :) just Grey level calibrated by Coolscan 5000 scanner

in Tiff > Jpeg for post

It's not the same lens I recognize and also not the same camera

but at the same time , and just I wish to have your advice about the rendering of Kodak TMAX and TX

column, wall, ceiling, floor , wall drawing ...not the same definition and contrast

Kodak TMAX400

a crop of picture below and post under the TX400 to have the same size

and for your easier comparison

a bit sharper for TMAX and rendering not the same between both Kodak 400 ?

Question ?

Thanks for your advice :) Which you prefer ?

May be I'll do more pictures to compare , but I know some of you are experts

in these films and you probably already make a comparison  :)

Very nice color Adam

Great picture

Henry

Thanks, Henry.

Henry - for me it is very difficult to tell on my phone. But i think either film could be betttet depending on the look you want. For a cleaner look with more midtones, i would use tmax. For a slightly more grainy look with more contrast, i would use Tri-X.

It's great to have choices :)

I'd be happy with either Henry, too hard for my old eyes to pick a winner.

Gary

This is in anticipation of Alzheimer's disease , that I torture you , it is for your good !

Gary a effort , it will be beneficial for your visual memory :D  and for operating your cerebral neurons :D

Gary look at details on the wall in the corner in background > dark in TX and best definition in TMAX

better contrast of the floor in foreground in TMAX  :)

Gary I remind you I don't correct these pictures

Best regards

Henry

I don't know if you have compared with the M8

As I have a M8 (and M9) and often compare pictures between both

I prefer the color in your picture here, very nice and natural color

You keep in this picture the original atmosphere

Thanks SP for sharing

I currently listen on SACD  "Anton Bruckner" Symphony  n°3, on my tube amplifier

I recommand you by Simone Young as conductor  !  great interpretation  of Bruckner

as in cameras for comparison, I have 3 interpretations of this same symphony
