Edward lovely portrait .  I can see each pore of the skin on the face of this lady,

I think pore is nicer when you enlarge ! picture here is not eough large to see

that !

So nice b&w tone too.

The last picture has a great contrast and the grain , like in the first picture, highlights

all your pictures .

Definition is superb without agressivity when watching

Thanks Edward,  we want more please :)

"film is not dead" Edward,  believe me , more and more photographers go back ...

Best

Henry

Some remarks/hints I experienced recently in the process of handling negatives and to digitize them which I find useful to share:

+ I stopped using LFN wetting agents in the last step of washing the negatives. Supposedly it should help against dust, but I don't see any difference of either using or not using wetting agent.

+ Instead I found it much better useful to wash the film at the end well with distilled water and then hanging the film to dry - don't even use a squeegee anymore. No residues left on the negatives!

+ Before scanning/digitizing the negatives just use a dust blower to get rid of some tiny remaining dust particles.

This way I can get a negative scanned which barely needs any kind of post processing to remove residue or dust traces. Just my 2 Cents, comments welcome :)

Some good thoughts here.

I've stopped using wetting agent too. I hoped it would help with water spots but it didn't. Instead I take hold of the two ends of the film when I take it out of the tank and snap it straight several times. That removes almost all of the water. A gentle pass between two extended fingers of my hand takes care of the bit remaining in the sprocket holes. The film dries very quickly with virtually no dust or other defects. As soon as it is dry I cut it into lengths and put them in film sleeves.

When I digitize the negatives I wipe down the light box and BEOON rig with an Ilford anti-static cloth, remove one strip from its sleeve,  pass it gently between the same two extended fingers (dry this time), run it through the BEOON which takes less than 30 seconds for the six frames, and immediately put it back in the sleeve. And there are almost no dust spots or defects in the digitized file. A far cry from my PhotoFlo and scanner days.

Edward film is not dead and camera too :)

Here one picture of my Leicaflex SL , the SLR German Panzer camera (for GaryB)

bought new in 1970 (I was student) , back from Wetzlar revised and refurbished

even the knob of exposure , microprisms of the viewfinder .... are changed.

lubrication . I think you cannot find another camera brand factory in the world

who can have spare parts after 47 years.

Leicaflex SL has a same principle than Leica MP , all is mechanical , no battery

for shutter except one battery for lightmeter if you need it , if not "f/16 rule" :)
