Reactivated my Hassi 500 CM today. Load with Kodak Tri-X 400 the old lady is ready for some portraits.

The Carl Zeiss Sonnar 4,0/150 is the C version - razorsharp and a mechanical masterpiece !

Only problem is actually the way I have to digitalize the negatives

On a flatbed scanner the results are not close as good as with my

reflecta fim scanner.......

Nice gear SS , in film wonderful picture result

I have two versions - that photo was with the old manual focus Nikkor-H Auto 85mm/f1.8. I use a Nikkor AF 85/1.4D on the F6, which is a much better lens in terms of wide-open sharpness. Some photos on that film were with the old manual focus Nikkor 50mm/f1.2 but they are very soft. Having had a Noctilux f1.0, I know it's not much use looking for anything comparable but hope springs eternal, so KEH is sending me a manual focus K-mount 50mm/f1.2 for the Pentax K2.

One more with the 85/1.8:

Bedside reading by chrism229, on Flickr

Try as I might, the stack of books on the bedside table witing to be read or re-read never seems to shrink!

A great place for the Gulag trilogy is right next to your scanner. It is amazing how Solzhenitsyn aids in the drudgery of waiting for a scan to complete.....If for no other reason than providing a reminder that waiting on a scanner is not such a big inconvenience.

Possibly that this thread involves so much of our attention, I know it does with mine. A good thing though.

This thread is amazing, I'm out of breath trying to keep up, so I'll slow it down with another triptych.

Ilford HP5 - Spur HRX

Beautiful.

Indulge me please, I recalled somewhere not so long ago you sort of explained "how to".

Can you do this again please, briefly.

A day in the life of a scanner?

Another of the Manhattan Bridge but this time quite the opposite mood - a bright, clear HRD-like detailed view care of the 6x9 film size

Which frame do you prefer?

Linhof Technika Press, Zeiss Biogon 53mm (this is the original version of the Biogon, which is used on the SWC), Tri-X

Here's the fuller frame showing more of the crisp rough river water and the buildings on the Brooklyn side...

The non cropped for me Adam . Already very impressive on the small size canvas here...
