The camera had just been returned by Leica because of a  a meter problem I had......which they couldn't repair. During my trip the meter worked intermittently ...... Afterwards I went to Le Marche in Italy where I have a small holiday home and after a few exchanges with Philius I changed my batteries from LR44 to Sr 44's and so far so good .. don't really understand why...........

I found my Visoflex had jammed up today, so I took it apart, cleaned and lubricated it, and polished the ground glass. I started out trying to photograph the squirrel with the 560mm/f6.7 but I had to go so far back for minimum focusing distance, I discovered I could get the same framing much closer with the 280mm/f4.8. Much lighter on the tripod and I could get 1/60s with that lens and 100ASA film.

So much simpler with the SLR of course Chris, but not as much fun.

Gary I recognize SLR can do , M also too,  but limited by the RF

The magpie picture I posted above is done only with a 135 M and I don't need my magnifier

x1.25.

Wes I just look at batterie on MP and M7 like your M6 , I use the same for both camera.

Reference CR1/3N Varta : it's unique if my memory is good it's 3 Volts

I kept mumbling that to myself. I could put a 300mm on the F6, or, God forbid, a 600mm equivalent on the OM-D. Why torture myself? At least I now have a Visoflex that works snicker-snack as it is supposed to do.

Indeed, and as we all know, you could have done the shots a dozen times with a CCD, and achieved a result.

If the enjoyment (torture) factor is there, why not.

Same destination, different path.

Thanks, Eoin.  It does have a somewhat of a chocolatey palette.  But I was referring more to the cheesy cliche that with a box of chocolates you never know what you going to get (in terms of the filling inside the chocolate, etc) :)

This is special, Adam. Chocolate was exactly what I thought of when I saw it. Wonderful!

Really clean, Eoin.  Especially love the last.

Test today (I managed to scratch the negative) - EOS-1V HS w/ Zeiss ZE APO 135 f/2.0 (Fuji Neopan Acros 100)...

Thanks and love the "soft as the skin on a custard tart" expression :)  Mine is a 1950's model; don't know whether that's considered "old" by your standards.  But I do agree that the front element scratches like chalk - as does my 50mm dual range summicron (which is the only lens that I keep a skylight filter on).  Fortunately, both of these lens of mine have very good glass; and I hope to keep it that way! :)

That is a beautiful and touching moment. And the light is lovely.

Is your 50mm collapsible a new one or an old? I have a 50mm collapsible Summicron and it is beautiful in all those Leica-ery qualities (rendering, bokeh, etc) but the front glass is as soft as the skin on a custard tart and previous owners have  wiped it clean with sand paper. It's like having a built in softar. (What a ramble!) My question is, "New or old?"

Simple yet elegant.  Very nice.
