I don't think I will get CA on b+w film

Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk

CA is a function of the lens, not the film. It means the lens can not focus all colors of light at the same distance. With color film it produces color fringing, mostly at the edges of the image. With b&w film it produces fuzziness, mostly at the edges of the image. It's one reason some older lenses with simpler optical formulas don't seem as sharp at the edges of the image.

Shooting two lenses at f8 is a great equaliser, agree the Skopar is a fine lens and I prize it in particular for its size and sharpness as a package but it is poor at f1.4 or even at f2.8 ;)

I wish my Skopar went to F1.4

Here are some more from this trip

The film was Tmax, camera was a Leica M2, it was a long time ago to be sure but so Some shots were with a 50mm f2.8 elmar and some with a 3.5cm f3.5 elmarit.

Wonderful shots Welsh particularly 2 and 3

Thank you for posting

I just use Tmax 100 and 400 and this film is as good as TX

Deep and homogeneous black really nice for b&w picture

I remind you in digital monochrom , you can have unhomogeneous black

Crop and you'll see !  pixels are not perfect

Bravo the film

Best

British humour I'm afraid, making fun of the speed (lack of) of the Skopar at f2.5 it of course can't shoot at all at f1.4 hence the comment on how poor it is at that aperture.

I'm going to try it on my A7 and do some test, I'll have to charge the battery not been used for about 6 months

Philip - Awesome and I really have enjoyed your macro flower photos.  You've made the ektar sing even more beautifully than the provia photos (IMHO, of course).

I seem to be having some luck with ants recently. Saw this little guy in the rather pretty hyacinth forest of Ockenburgh in The Hague.

Gary, my friend, you have found your true calling.  The batch of dog photos that you have share recently are truly top of the top.  I have a keen sense that you connect well with the canine species (rivaled only by my 9-yr old daughter whose idea of a good time is spending hours in our neighborhood NYC dog park (without bringing our dog) and running around with all the dogs and interacting with each of them) and your photos really show that.  Best of all is that you don't need any releases with dog as you do with humans.. :)
