stray cat Posted April 10, 2017 Share #30351 Posted April 10, 2017 Thank you Hartmut. Your photographs certainly capture a good deal of the "vibe" of the speakers at that wonderful English institution that is Speaker's Corner. It looks like you, too, really got a lot out of the experience of visiting there. I find this really quite incredible - I still can't believe we took pictures of the same guy withing days of our arrivals in London, and over 30 years ago we meet and these pictures immediately surface. Cue "Twilight Zone" music! Here's another 1980 Kodachrome of my day in the park: Hyde Park, London, 1980 Canon AE1, FDn 50mm f1.4 (I think), Kodachrome 64 For Phil and Henry All Kodachrome 200, Pentax ME Super. Lens unknown. stray cat Posted April 10, 2017 Share #30353 Posted April 10, 2017 Oh and I just found this (sorry for this indulgence everyone): another one from the day at Speaker's Corner: Anarchy in the UK Same stuff as before. Hardster Posted April 10, 2017 Share #30355 Posted April 10, 2017 (edited) Thank you Phil! Love all of these and the era they typify especially the last at Speaker's (not forgetting the hairdos in the background). What a great portrait. He is Anarchy in the UK! And the Bobbies in Notting Hill. Ubiquitous and mulling. Never really quite threatening but ready when needed. Feel like I'm there. So London 1980s! stray cat Posted April 10, 2017 Share #30356 Posted April 10, 2017 Thanks a lot Hartmut. Yes, these pictures do rather bring it back a bit. Actually the police and the crowd got along very well that day and it was all good fun. And, yeah, what ever happened to those pompadour hairstyles for men and the pampered poodle perms for women?

Wayne Posted April 10, 2017 Share #30359 Posted April 10, 2017 ...and a couple from Notting Hill, on the same trip: Deal or No Deal, London, 1980 Canon AE1, FD 24mm SSC, Kodachrome 64 Pretty Little Policemen in a Row, London, 1980 Canon AE1, FD 24mm SSC, Kodachrome 64 Incidentally, the two incidents are unrelated as far as I remember. Thanks for this. I love the gathering of police. They appear a friendly lot; more interested in which pub they take lunch. I have never made a request, but I would love to see the police shot in B&W. It could possibly look like an out-take shot from the old B&W Keystone Cops silent movies. Best Wayne
Wayne Posted April 10, 2017 Share #30360 Posted April 10, 2017 (edited) Nice grain and b&w tone Wayne For the flower is't windy that day ? with a 90 mm lens and tripod It'll be nice too Thanks for posting Henry Given lighting, I felt lucky to get the focus accuracy I was able. Of interest with this Svema 400, I took shots exposed for ISOs 400, 800 and 1600, all on the same roll. I then stand developed the roll in 1/100 Rodinal solution for one hour. It worked......to my satisfaction, which may be well below that of others. In any event, just another incursion of film into one of the "advantages," i.e. ISO on the fly, of digital.
