Sometimes you get lucky, even if you completely mess up. With this roll of Tri-X (and the two that accompanied it) I decided to stand develop, then somehow managed to pour in two types of developer, Rodinal and XTOL, thereby doubling the dose. Still, this picture I think benefited from the error because it now has a gritty atmospheric edge rather than just being a fairly bland shot. In effect, the mistake made the picture:

Speaking of the 35mm Summicron, I used the same lens at the Top of the Rock in New York last August (I don't think I've posted this picture before, apologies if I have). It is so small, which makes the combination not so threatening-looking, it makes for a wonderful candid lens.

Brendan congrats for your new M6 acquisition

It's a nice camera with nice pictures

Lightmeter is sometimes useful when you shoot at the right moment "à la manière de Henri Cartier Bresson"  :)

Nice series specially the last one .... abandoned house worthy in a movie

Thanks

Henry

Thank you Henry!  Here are a few more from the first M6 roll.

Best

Henry

I love the photograph, Henry. I went to the camera shop for the specific purpose of buying a copy of this lens.............I walked out with a new 28mm Summicron Aspherical.  This weekend I am going to mourn my fickle nature with the M7 and the new lens.

One of my favorite pictures. Captured a buddy on his trials motorcycle in deep concentration reading the next obstacle. Shot on the Leica M6TTL and Ilford HP5 film.

Thanks, your image is sweet... Speaking of static! that shot of mine was a crouching pan shot :) As in I crouched down and moved my hips in a panning motion and almost swept around in a convex motion to follow the subject. I was amazed when I saw how crisp his face was and saw the neat motion in the trees.

SS wonderful portrait , well done . Lovely and soft line make this portrait great

The grain highlights the face with natural pore of the skin , not possible in digital

Thanks

Life is good, Henry is posting poppies again.

Merci

Charles

This is lovely. Light and beautifully informal.

Thank you Charles and Michel ... poppies are unique for the red looking like human arterial blood :)

Digital can not have this red color , even corrected , not yet  for the moment ....

As you know , I am a poppies hunter :)  and every year on spring , I get out to photograph this wonderful and wild flower in fields

Kodak Portra 160 or 400 one of the best film for poppies. Fuji satures a little red

I prefer Kodak !

Kodak Portra 160 developed myself in Tetenal at 30°C

A real quick roll to experiment with flare control while using the Super Angulon 21mm F4. Still waiting on the hood.

Yes Henry, a slight amount but I'm hoping a hood will reduce or eliminate this.

Problem is that it is such a wide lens, the sun affects more than usual.

Filter on, can't recall if UV or Yellow.
