Great composition, Steve.  Is that the horizon in the distant lower right that looks tilted, or another hilltop?  Can't tell but if it is the horizon perhaps a slight tilt might be in order?

Against the odds.

This is another example of my failure as a "street photographer:" I tried to get a candid shot, but, after getting tired of the effort, I said, what the heck, and went over to talk with them. Turns out they are a couple of homeless veterans. Being a veteran myself, I fell right in. Before I knew it, they offered to let me take a shot.

You call that failure...?

I have always thought of street photography as catching people going about their business. My problem is I get the guilt complex and wind up introducing myself and speaking with them.

To be honest, I am kind of proud of the idea that I got this portrait with the Mountain Elmar. I sure wasn't expecting that when I screwed it onto my camera for some stealthy work.

I reply late to Xenia , because I was looking for pictures, that I finally found.

This is one aspect of the burglary in my house ,on a Sunday afternoon in August

(where the city is deserted because of the holidays , a good time for burglaries)
where I was absent only 4 hours.

They climbed by the garden behind which has a wall of 9 meters without scale ,

they left  through the window at the front of the house.
They did not steal my cameras but above all they looked for jewels and money
hidden in books. The 4 chimneys of the house have also been opened ,because

they thought we hid inside (a habit of us).

Photo taken for my insurance

Fuji Superia 100-R4s-50 Summicron

I am wholeheartedly with Xenia and I hope she will buy soon a new Hassy to make

beautiful film pictures as you show us with the money of insurance .

Very unpleasant impression of being burgled and I understand Xenia

Good luck

Best

Dear Henry,

How awful that must have been for you to find your house in such a state!

After a burglary our homes feels 'unclean' even when the thief doesn't make a mess like that in your case.

Going through deskdrawers, briefcases, jackets etc is enough to feel discomfort and anger that everything has been touched and soiled.

During a break-in long ago several people actually lived in my apartment in Stockholm while I was abroad. They left bottles and syringes and had painted the walls with ketchup and urin. When I came home in the middle of the night, all the floors were covered with our cloth cut into pieces mixed with food leftovers and feces. It was really bad, but what I couldn't take was, that they had read my diaries and hundreds of letters. After a good cry I threw everything away and started cleaning and painting the walls. When my children came home a week later the apartment looked almost as before...

So yes, I understand perfectly well how awful the experience must have been for you (and everybody else who have had it).

And it takes weeks and month to get over with. I have not been keeping a diary since that time thirty years ago.

But enough of unpleasantries!

Let us think about all the great photos we are going to take and share.

Thank you, Henry, for this thread and the wonderful people you have brought together here!

And thank you for caring :)

Best, Xenia

Thanks for posting the results of your test, Chris. I'm very impressed with the smooth tonality.

In case it helps, the reliable Jan Lauritz at classiccamera.se doesn't have a 903 at the moment but a SWC T*. L-Foto.se has five different SWC models in stock, including a 903, but he tends to charge more than a bit too much for his stuff which I find annoying. The Finnish kameratori.fi has a pretty good stock of Hasselblad stuff too and for reasonable money.

Thank you, Philip!

I'll keep the links in mind when it is time to decide.

I have bought from Jan Lauritz before. He is indeed very reliable!

But I have to wait for insurance to come through.

Thanks again and best wishes,

Xenia

That's the point for me: I can push XP2 to 800 or 1600 and there is NO grain, merely some more boredom turning the developing tank. Rational people might be amused at the outrage this suggestion caused at APUG.

C.

Thank you very much for your efforts, Chris. The results are extraordinary, and I find them inspiring. I'm not surprised by some of the response you encountered - Some people don't want to hear that their multi-decade opinions may be limiting.

Keep up the great work - I very much like what you've been achieving with XP2 Super.

While spring is settling in most of the countries, my recent work related trip to Greenland proved otherwise for this impressive country... On Portra 400 with the Olympus XA.
