philipus Posted March 24, 2017 Share #29524 Posted March 24, 2017 Here are two photos of a lioness we were able to follow for a while. When we arrived she had just hunted and we could observe her trying to teach her cubs how to eat (in the photos to come). You see one of the cubs in the background, being more interested in playing around than eating. 1N Velvia 50 (RVP) Flickr 200/2.8L+2x Flickr 200/2.8L
Xenia Posted March 24, 2017 Share #29525 Posted March 24, 2017 "It must be great to find an area like this and have a camera with you, like striking gold. These are truly terrific, Xenia. The panoramic format works perfectly for them. My favourite is the last one. Where was it shot, in Sweden?" Thank you, Phillip! All of these are shot in Portugal, on the Island of Madeira. The trees are laurels and I have a project going there called: 'Laurels in the Mist' Thanks again and best wishes, Xenia

A miller Posted March 24, 2017 Share #29533 Posted March 24, 2017 Philip - love that Velvia 50! More so than the ektachrome, though the subject matter is great in all. Xenia Posted March 24, 2017 Share #29535 Posted March 24, 2017 Hello everybody and a big thanks for your support! I do feel specially greatful because I lost my beloved 903SWC in a burglary we had during Christmas. The thief, who came through a window on the second floor, crashed both of my Hasselblad cameras when he tried to escape. Fortunately, Hasselblad could repare one, but the SWC was too damaged to work on. We were asleep, when it happened, but my husband woke and the thief disappeared over the roofs in our street. Very much like the 'cat' in an old Hichcook film. Anyway, all of you with an SWC can imagine how I feel... I'am still waiting for insurance to pay up and this is and has been very frustating times. Thank you again to all of you! All the best, Xenia

stray cat Posted March 24, 2017 Share #29537 Posted March 24, 2017 What an awful experience, Xenia. I wonder if burglars ever consider what more they take from people than the actual objects. Hope you are able to find a new SWC once the insurance comes through, and look forward to seeing more of your Laurels in the Mist!
stray cat Posted March 24, 2017 Share #29538 Posted March 24, 2017 Adam I am now seriously worried that I might be enjoying your Tri-X blizzard shots even more than the colour ones! What a predicament!
stray cat Posted March 24, 2017 Share #29539 Posted March 24, 2017 Philip, your lion shots are truly outstanding, and you have managed to get an impressive variety which I wouldn't imagine was terribly easy. Hopefully there are more to come!
stray cat Posted March 24, 2017 Share #29540 Posted March 24, 2017 Wayne, the way you picture the quiet moments and places around your home town is truly inspiring. I always look forward to your posts.
