Wow, Chris, this is excellent. Looks grainless. HC-110 is a very versatile developer. Even when there's quite some grain, like what I get when I develop Double-X in it, the grain looks crystalline somehow.

As vaguely promised a week or two ago, I have continued to abuse XP2. Today's effort was to expose it at 1600 and guess the development time, and since yesterday, I used 10 minutes for ISO400, I used the rule of thumb that a 1/3 increase in time compensates for 1 stop of underexposure, and developed this for 18 minutes in 1+49 HC-110. I am amazed at the lack of grain!

It looks like 3200 might be possible if I can bring myself to sit and agitate each minute for 24 minutes!

This one is very nice John, thanks for posting and joining the thread.

I know that most you fine Leica folks are now shooting with the latest and greatest "digital" Leica equipment but I thought that you might enjoy some of my "film" images taken with Leica M and R cameras over the past few years.

Here is a sample image - I call it MudFlats on Fire. It was taken on the Fraser river here in Vancouver British Columbia with the Leica M4-P and the 21 mm. Super Angulon (a legendary lens indeed).

Many thanks, Phil and Gregor :)

Absolute bloody ripper shot! I love the colour shots, but this one is just sensational.

absolutely agree with Phil ....!

Love this one, Wayne.  Is that from the US?  If so, perhaps the town has Bavarian immigrant influence?

If you click on the link there's a 4096x4096 85% JPEG. Click on that to see at 100% All this effort to make a file that could have come out of the Monochrom!

Hi, morale is better now
I just lost another sister, the second in less than a year and a half and this after my mother

Thank you to all those who asked for my news during these 3 weeks
Where you imagine that I did not have too much moral, forgive me for not coming to the forum
I thank ChrisM, Christopher, Gary, Wayne, Ian and others I have not mentioned...
It gives me warm heart to have friends in these circumstances who think of you
Again thanks to all of you !

Best

Henry

Chris , Quad a great english preamplifier with beautiful sound.

Picture is also nice. Why without grain?

The grain is pretty and photo software wants to imitate the grain of the film

The MM monochrom has no grain but smooth the square pixels of the lines and edges,

made them too sharp , too agressive , not pleasant for eyes !

Best

Henry
