Some more Kodachrome, because some days you realize just how much you miss it. This is one of my favourites and is 37 years old:

Grand Final day, MCG, 1980

Canon AE1, FD 24mm SSC, Kodachrome 64

I've returned to this image several times.  It's a brilliant, captivating documentary record and a painful reminder of what we lost when Kodak deprived us of K64.

It's an image that deserves an award.  Much enjoyed!

Agreed.

Thank you so much Steve and gnuyork, and to everyone who has given me so much encouragement, particularly with this photograph which is one of my favourites. Steve, no awards as such for this, but I had a portfolio review with the outstanding street photographer Jesse Marlow and it was far and away his favourite - so that's as good as an award to me!

Henry,

Your comment is truly taken to heart. Much appreciated!!

Frank

You know Frank, it's important for me when I watch a picture b&w or color

that something touches me like when I listen a piece of music in vinyl (classical)

it goes into my guts.....in opposite of digital , firstly good impression just for fews

seconds and after I said "bof" and I forget ....smoothing lines of square px,

electronic robot image machine (electric signals) with plasticized and sythetic picture

and full of problems (aliasing, moiré, aproximate color, edges too sharp etc...)

I think the grain also contributes for the artistic and sentimental side of film

I especially like the second one, Henry - very nice to have the interaction with one of the subjects, and the boats in the distance provide superb context.

Phil if you like these pictures I have another for you

I took during my last humanitarian mission in SE Asia

.... continuation

Thanks for your comment Phil much appreciated  :)

I really like the framing and focus on the first shot, Henry. An unexpected angle somehow.

Wonderful colours and details,Dave, and technically a very very good scan too. I think the only thing that could possibly have been improved on this photo would have been positioning the camera been perfectly parallel to the wall. Still, it's a cracker with the diagonals on the ground really pushing the eyes to the centre of the frame.

This is great, Gary. It's a shot I'd like to see printed large. And impressive stitching too. I never get the images to look so completely seamless together. Any tips?

Possibly a decent advertising campaign by the Tourist Bureau. It is sparsely populated evidently, about 4 and a bit million. Still overcrowded if you ask me (and most NZ'ers).

From a short distance away from the alpaca shot. We have been visiting quite a few vineyards of late.

Same camera/film details. It started out as three images, and I stitched them together in CS6.

Gary

Great to see you back Jean-Marc! This is an excellent street photography shot.

"Grandeur et Décadence"

Currently in our french forum , we have a lot of M240 and M246 in sales

half (and less) price  of new !

This is the panic because it will depreciate with the new M10
