Rained off then?

Gary

No, Gary, come off it - rained off footy? Would never even be so much as contemplated (especially in Melbourne!).

I absolutely love this. You can read something in all the faces.

You are very kind to say that Fairkid. Yes, it's the faces and gestures that is what I think appeals most to me in this picture - no-one really communicating with another, but each with his/her private thoughts. And yet a link of sorts.

Great Picture. The persons in the foreground with interesting details (bino, umbrella) and the persons disappearing in the dark background.

Thank you Fotoklaus. I'll stick my neck out and say that, at least for me, no film has ever portrayed that merge into darkness that Kodachrome did. It is that film's greatest strength in my opinion.

You are quite right Gary. It is the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) but during the winter months Australian Rules football is played there. The Grand Finals of these games attract huge crowds - 100,000 people or more. I was at one such game in 1970 when the attendance was a record 121,696.

Sorry Phil,
I took the "C" to stand for cricket.

That's very kind of you Henry. I wish my memory was as well-preserved as these Kodachromes! Still, they help.

"Yes you can" (Pdt Barack Obama citation)  :)

I think the slides will still be there for my children when I'm no longer there

The proof  :)

...and there's even one gentleman lighting a cigarette at the back.

Wonderful photograph.

Thank you Gregor for your comment .... here another taken from the High Speed Train at 320 Kms/h

The train goes very fast and trees or landscapes also change fast , in every seconds

this time you can guess the shadow of the hill in background :)

Phil... and I must add not sure you can say the same thing for "digital" pictures in 40 years !

Better print them for archive on paper

Thanks, Henry. It was a photo by my wife, I'm guessing Kodacolour. The girls are now 26 and 18 years old.
