This is in the cafeteria of the Museé d'Orsay in Paris. This is an impressive building with a wonderful collection. If you look carefully you can see Sacre Coeur in the distance.

This is another picture I took on the Staten Island ferry. I was really looking forward to photographing aboard this iconic commuter ferry when I was in New York late last year, and it did not disappoint. Not just for the interesting people riding it, but for the whole architecture of the boat and the wonderful atmosphere of it all.

Thanks Doc Henry. It's lovely. I can't find one from Bornand to reciprocate but this one is from Riquewihr.

Did someone say Riquewihr?   :)  Here is a transparency from summer 1984 - Pentax ME Super, possibly Fujichrome.

Two more from my latest roll of Tri-X (Hasselblad 500C, Distagon 60mm).

1)  Lacock Abbey (home of William Fox-Talbot) on a lovely sunny early Jan day.

2)  Another from Tuesday's visit to a dull & dreary Cirencester - the impressive frontage of the St John Baptist parish church.

Thanks very much for taking the time to do this, Phil. I appreciate it and I like the result a lot. It is more neutral. I should say my earlier correction was just a simple warming of the shadows in ACR. Thank you again.

 Hi Philip,

I agree there was an improvement when you took out some blue.

I hope this is OK and you don't mind, but I uploaded your picture and had a go at it with something like what I'd do if it were my picture (and I understand well that we all see things way differently, so again, forgive me and I reiterate that this is just a personal vision). This was just going into "Selective Color" in Photoshop and selecting "Neutral" then sliding the "Cyan" slider down to -12:

p2179127614-4.jpg

To me, this gives a more "neutral" tone to the elements in the picture. I'd do a couple of other things, and in retrospect I'd slide out a touch more cyan.

Anyway, I hope you see this as just a suggestion which in absolutely no way implies any criticism of your picture.

Great framing, Michael. I liked it a lot without spotting Sacre Coeur, but with that in the frame it is simply a great photo.

I like the colour a lot in this one. Very impressive result with the home development too Henry.

Keith, Thanks for reminding me that I have another residence of the Fox Talbots nearby at Margam Park. So easy to forget all the great places near where I live. I shall have to take my film cameras there soon, and put some shots up of that. The place looks very similar.

Great shots.

Lovely images Keith. Being a predominantly Fujifilm (Acros) user, your pictures are enticing me to try some of the Kodak BW film stock

I managed to DIY clean the aperture ring on my beloved Summitar. It has always been quite difficult to turn, esp. in cold weather. But I came across this thread at RFF which showed a rather easy-looking procedure so I gave it a go. It was very easy indeed and the ring is now very smooth. Since I only cleaned, using Zippo lighter fluid, and didn't apply any synthetic grease, we'll see how long it lasts. But for now I'm very pleased.

Here are two from Rovaniemi, taken early autumn 2013 with my Leica II and the Summitar on Superia 400. In a way fitting to post something from Finland since Tom Abrahamsson, a well-known Leica film shooter active at RFF and the father of the RapidWinder (not to mention a fellow Swede), passed away unexpectedly in early January, survived by his Finnish wife Tuulikki.

@ Philip (stray cat)

Thank you for the compliments, but the forehead becomes longer, and somehow I feel 17 years.

@ Henry

The knave aside is always my wife (and art director) :)

@Philipus

Your'e right. It is everytime the same pub in the cultural centre, where my wife and I met at first, nearly thirty years ago.

The only thing I regret, is, that I didn' start these pictures earlier. I use photos to save my commemoration and apart from all visual advantages of film I appreciate

the unmodifiable character of the negative.
