I like this one a lot Henry. The light is absolutely beautiful and the line of boats draws the eye in towards the fisherman and then to the mountains dissolving in the background.

A terrific portrait, very pleasant. I can see that something's on his mind. This photo also shows very well how sharp a film image can be in spite of fairly prominent grain.

Philip thank you for your comment. Still in sale I'll try some rolls of Kodak Gold. It's cheaper than Portra :)

Apparently Leica has launched a new digital camera. I hope it will sell very well and keep the company we love in business for long.

But here's to celebrating film photography. My good friend Robert at right, who some of you met at last year's pleasant LUF get-together in Tilurg, sporting an M3 with a rigid 50 Summicron and a meter.

The friendly gentleman at left is an American who came up to us noticing Robert's M3 and that we were shooting film. Unfortunately I've forgotten his name but he and his wife had decided to move to Italy to start a new chapter in their life together. He also shot an M3 with a 35 Summaron.

Lovely shot and nice color Philip.

So we made friends with M3 :D  It's extraordinary

For your american photographer at left, he is right to move to Italy ... especially since one populist will soon arrive !

Philip explain me what is "wet mount" , do you mean you put some water ? :D

Thanks for posting

Thank you Henry, yes it was really quite a nice encounter.

I described the wet scanning process in this post. The liquid I use is Kami fluid.

A main reason is to make sure the film is absolutely flat. With the glass-less holder for the Coolscan I don't get that. And with the anti-Newton glass that I have I still get Newton rings frustratingly often. And since it is impossible to predict when they will appear, the workflow gets disrupted. Wet scanning deals with these problems and also minimises effects of any dust I haven't managed to remove. Overall the scans are sharper, too.

I've now set up my workflow such that I am usually able to scan and post-process a roll of C41 or E6 120 film in about an hour, black and white is faster because the scans go faster. This is at 2000 dpi, I should add, which is sufficient for most purposes for me. I rarely use 4000 dpi. Through a bit of testing I have also created a shorter step-by-step scanning process than the guide I linked to in that post. This has dealt with the hangs I experienced too.

We planned a climb of the Mont Blanc of 4 days last May.

Unfortunately the weather has changed quickly, the snow and the clouds are

quickly arrived, it is unusual in May. Our guide canceled the escalation !

PS: For comparison I also took these landscapes with my 2 digital cameras and in color film (MP)

I prefer light cameras so I let all my SLR at home

I am please that Leica was inspired by analog M !

https://uk.leica-camera.com/Photography/Leica-M/Leica-M10/Details?utm_campaign=LeicaM10&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_content=#Slim

as I said in my previous post it is true that the M is light (compared to Leica SLR)
