Guest Posted November 19, 2016 Share #23881 Posted November 19, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Could you kindly elaborate on how you measured light? Specifically, did you set to "box ISO" without pushing and use camera's internal meter? I'm about to use Portra for the first time and I feel unprepared as regards light measurement, so I follow the posts here Paul - Portra 400 seems to be very forgiving, so not much worry about exposure measurement. I used the M6 internal meter, generally pointing the viewfinder to a mid-tone (Zone V). The exposures were all fine, but I didn't have any challenging light situations on the one roll of Portra that I shot. Also, here seems to be a lot of headroom before blowing out highlights. In Børge Indergaard's review of the MP, there are a couple of paragraphs on exposure that should give you confidence. _______________ Alone in Bangkok essay on BURN Magazine

Sparkassenkunde Posted November 19, 2016 Share #23882 Posted November 19, 2016 Well, the results of today's test roll (Tri-X rated at ISO 320, dev in Rodinal 1:50 for 11mins 45secs) came out not too bad at all. Avebury was quite chilly this morning. I should mention that all were taken with a yellow/green filter. First two:- Great start with your "new" camera! The picture with the boulders is my favorite!
Keith (M) Posted November 19, 2016 Share #23883 Posted November 19, 2016 Good work, Keith. How was the experience? Apart from being distinctly cold? Having only used rangerfinders for some years, the noise of mirror and shutter blinds was quite something! Am also used to split-image viewfinders, so the fresnel screen (which is quite bright) will take some getting used to. For this first roll, being landscapes and mostly at f8 I used the hyperfocal marks to set the focus. Seems to have worked OK. When I ordered the camera I also ordered the wide (40mm) original Hasselblad strap - (it is as sturdy & robust as the camera!) and made the carrying experience more comfortable than expected. All in all, it is living up to my hopes and expectations
Keith (M) Posted November 19, 2016 Share #23884 Posted November 19, 2016 Prior to Friday's arrival of the Hasselblad, on Wed I had gone to our local market armed with my Rolleicord Vb to try out Fomopan 200 (Fomopan being a film I have never used, but some folks here had recommended it). Developed in Rodinal 1:50 for ten minutes (as per MassiveDev) the negs are a little on the thin side - could have done with another half to full stop exposure perhaps. Anyway, two examples:- Welcome, dear visitor! Keith (M) Posted November 19, 2016 Share #23888 Posted November 19, 2016 Well, this week you have seen examples from my first Hasselblad attempts and from my test of Fomapan 200 in my Rolleicord. Seems fitting to round off the week with some from my GW690II (Velvia 100, received back from Palm Lab today). Taken last week in early morning light on the Ridgeway in Wiltshire. Sparkassenkunde Posted November 19, 2016 Share #23900 Posted November 19, 2016 For Klaus - and for all film lovers out there :-) This picture was cropped due to boring sky. I measured the light at the darker parts in the middle of the frame, thus the sky was slightly overexposed. Bavarian landscape: Welcome, dear visitor!
