Image7tamky2tmaxlfhtfes+++950.jpg TMAX a "deep" homogeneous black (no "banding" inhomogeneous like in digital) Best Henry When I said "banding" perhaps it's not a good term I should rather say "Inhomogeneous pixels distribution" in the black and also notice a black margin on both sides of the arch ! Here an example with a digit MM1 * crop 100% Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! and a crop 100% of the film picture posted above in the black region You can see the details of vertical white lines inside that are the bamboo which form the structure of this round boat. To remember when you shoot in digit Monochrome !!! I agree with you that it's not the same picture , but I just want to show you what I mean ! Here is another similar one but this time with the Provia 100F. IMO not quite as good on the colors on the Velvia 50 (at least when viewing the slides on the light table), but still really good Israeli Cactus Provia 100F SWC Welcome, dear visitor! Fotoklaus Posted October 7, 2016 Share #22191 Posted October 7, 2016 Klaus, Really nice definition and b&w tone I currently use TMAX100 but when I saw your deep and nice black I'll purchased this film next time in comparison with TX400. Thanks Best Henry Thanks, Henry! The deep blacks are depending on the very hard constrasts on this day. Bright sunlight and hard shadows combined. I like the Tmax 400 because it has real ISO 400 and gives very good results with the standard D76. The grain es the same (or even better) as a classic ISO 100-Film. My standard BW-Film.

atournas Posted October 7, 2016 Share #22193 Posted October 7, 2016 Paul nice b&w tone . Is classical music ? Thanks for posting [...] Regards Henry Thanks, Henry. The photograph I posted above was taken at Covent Garden, London, in early 90's. on BW400CN; can't recall the camera for sure, either Nikon or Zenit(!). And, yes, the music was classical. By the way, I may have posted it again years ago in another thread. Best Paul
