Outstanding image, Henry. While I cannot paint, if I could, this one would definitely be an inspiration. I think I will buy some Ektar 100.

Yes W thank you  :)

Last time I took many pictures with Portra 400 and 160 the most in 400

This time I only used Ektar and Portra 160 the most in Ektar .

It's a bit due to Adam that I took the Ektar. Thanks Adam :)
I do not regret because the colors of this country are well reproduced
and are far prettier than the color coming from my 2 M digital cameras.

Here another picture for you , showing a great dynamic and sensitivity of this film even in contre-jour :)

A point along the way on my daily walk.

Hassewlblad 203FE + 110/2.0 Planar.

Portra 400 + Tetenal C41.

Nikon 8000ED scanner.

wonderul, Erl.  Love the consistency of the blue in the sky and the touches of other colors (yellow, orange, etc).  The composition is very pleasing.  Simple yet very lovely.

Very contrasty negatives. Probably 30 minutes rather than 40 would do. First is a re-do of the photo on the bridge deliberately over-exposed by three stops to let me use f2.8:

This is what I wanted the first time around, but I didn't get it as I forgot that the TLR shows me an f3.5 image no matter what the taking lens is set to, and that was something like f16 in the first version.

Runner beans, tomatoes and courgettes/zucchini. Guess what's for supper!

Chris

Great job of filling the square frame and with use of OOF.  Truly 3D and crazy sharp.

Trialed a roll of Superpan 200, with and without an I/R filter, 720Nm.

More as I get time to fiddle with them.

SWC

Gary

Really good stuff, Gary.  I see that you are starting to make your SWC sing beautifully.  Nice!

And a bit of foliage only.

Gary

This is really stellar.  So much in the frame.  Also the SWC?  If so, you are now a master!

Thank you Philip :)

I also thought about a painting when I saw this earlier.  I am quite to take full credit - even a healthy royalty - with your success with the Ektar.  But it is not an easy C41 film to get along with and the credit is all to you for getting these wonderful images.

Henry, Adam, and whoever else it may concern

On a more serious note: personally I can't be bothered to carry around a tripod (except in extreme circumstances, for example when I don't have to walk, or when I'm busy with the annual ritual of taking pictures for the worldwide pinhole photography day). This, of course has as much to do with me, the nature of the photography that I do, as well as, perhaps, with the kind of tripod that I own.

In fact, I truly admire your determination and patience in using said contraption, and particularly the remarkable results that you can achieve! Just think of the example above, slugging knee deep in a life-threatening environment (for your equipment) just to get that one brilliant shot!

Who knows, perhaps you will, in the end, inspire me to mend my tripod-less ways?

I wish you continuing good light,

Christoph

Thanks, Christoph.  I am glad that my OCD and recklessness have combined to translate into a source of inspiration for you. :)

Here is another for you along these lines.  More than knee deep in, with my camera on tripod in one hand and camera bag with an extra film back, spot meter, full set of LEE filters, a freezer pack with my film held tightly under my other arm while I very carefully bending down to focus this shot wide open with my ground glass + prism (for Chris) so as too not acquire that fatal drop of Dead Sea water on my gear.   :o

Great view and perspective Paul. It's a breathtaking place, Santorini. I remember doing a spontaneous project on the many dogs that walked around or lazied about Oia (on digital so not to be consumed here).

Did you shoot these on expired Ektachrome? I don't remember seeing colours like this when I shot this film. That was admittedly in the 80s so my memory is likely faulty.

Chris, it's a long time I would say that all these MF Photos are beautiful , color as b&w :)

What a remarkable definition , what an extraordinary color and what a beautiful contrast especially the last picture

The veins of wood as there we are inside ..... :)

Remarkable effect and vivid colors in your last color pictures

Regards

Adam, How on earth did those trees/shrubs ever grow there in the first place? Were they there long before the Dead Sea expanded or something? I was out with my lightest tripod today, and while convenient it has a panning head which I suppose is really for video rather than a ball head. Perhaps I should use my medium tripod (generally reserved for 4x5). Anyway, Pippa was following me with her PanaLeica, here, here, unt hier. The film is drying at present, then we shall see if I have learnt anything at all about framing with the SWC's viewfinder. The groundglass is still a week away or more.

Thank you, Henry. I have become a bit of a one-trick pony (I hope you can follow that, as I have no idea what it might be en français) with my love of differential focus. That's partly why I'm persevering with the SWC. Huge depth of field, just about everything in focus no matter what you do with the focus ring. Photos have to be made by composition alone, and it's awkward when the viewfinder gives a different perspective to the camera. Let's call it a challenge, and hope I can rise to it!

Absolutely superb Adam

Really superb , good work

I also used my tripod for these shots taken in low light conditions and cloudy morning  .

No image blur possible for that kind of landscape.

The context is barely 5:30 am , early in the morning , here the dawn.

I was with my 100 isos film and at an speed expos between 1/15 to 1/30 sec if I remember correctly. :)

I prefer to work in real natural conditions without mounting the isos as on my M9 and M8.

You already know that I am not in favor of altering a photo in rising isos , as certain do....

For me this is not the picture but an "approximate synthesis picture".

Sorry for being honest.

I prefer in the case do not shoot , if I'm not in good conditions (ie without the tripod)

Hi Philip,

Thanks for looking at the photograph. The slide used was not expired; I presume it's the scanner and I have promised myself I will not spend time on post-processing!

Selling corn on the cob in Stockholm; on Ektachrome 100 ASA nominal.

I have long stopped shooting slides and colour negatives. Whenever I now shoot film, it is always black and white. When I used to shoot slide, my choice was Ektachrome 100. I was never disappointed by its rendition, saturation, and grain. So, forgive me for being so annoyingly repetitive when mentioning slide type.
