Guest JMF Posted September 2, 2016 Share #20563 Posted September 2, 2016 (edited) Yesterday evening, I posted that image of Luskentyre elsewhere and was asked why I did not correct the magenta cast. That would be unthinkable to me, I might as well not use Velvia 50 if I felt the need to 'correct' the way this emulsion reacts to certain light, location and atmospheric conditions. Anyway, the comment caused me to think a little again about why I use Velvia to unlock it's palette rather than it's outright accutance, so I put some thoughts on my blog for anyone who might be interested: http://www.uklandscapephotographer.com/fujifilm-velvia-50/ Thanks for sharing ! A refreshing read. Quoting you if you allow me ...: I make a point of avoiding those life-wasting film vs. digital arguments that still rage on photography forums, but I will always attempt to offer an explanation as to why I use film if asked. (...) Whichever technology is chosen, there is no escape. Both directions require education and understanding to really find one’s own voice as a photographer. gbealnz Posted September 3, 2016 Share #20567 Posted September 3, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Nice sense of the skittish in the first one Gary. Did you have a bet? . ;-) .Tony. To be honest Tony, horse racing is not me, but on a few occasions I do, a small wager here and there ($1-2, maybe really rash, $5). And normally always only on horses my employer owns. We live on a thoroughbred farm, so the view out the kitchen window is mares and foals right now. Gary
