This shot was taken about 4 weeks ago on a visit to a lovely village called Kirk Ireton where you went on a trail around the village visiting gardens, this lady had a very small garden that she was very proud of so i asked if i could take her portrait. Taken with my Fuji GW690 on Foma 400 film

I love how she has placed her left leg

Henry,

Your Apo-Telyt weighs only 450g, My Elmarit-M goes with 730g on the scale!

But I like the googles of the Elmarit-M to get a better view on the composition.

I don't use a Hangrip on my MP, but it is almost married to a Leicavit, which

serves the same purpose...

Christoph

Christoph,

Yes I see you don't have the same 135mm ....

The googles of your 135 can help for focusing

It's a good lens too :) the proof by your last picture

Today I took a Pentax 645N with Velvia 100, and a 645NII with Rollei Crossbird to the beach. Different lenses, but it will be interesting to compare the colours. I'll be scanning until late into the night!

Chris

Color is wonderful and what definition

Really nice

Thanks Chris

I've been away for a while (and hope to have new material to post soon). It's great to see so many new participants in the thread.

Here's another one from MUC. I remember I shot at minimum distance with the 80 Planar and tried to keep very still (Provia 100).

Henry,

The googles actually prevent rhe lens to be mounted with the handgrip on (and I think the winder too).

Especially wide open it is not as sharp as the Apo 3.4/135 and also the 4/135 seems sharper. But the

googles really help me with focussing amd composition. Also, the (relative) softness makes for pleasing

portraits at close distance! Finally, they generally can be had for a good price. Just be careful when you

buy, as, in addition to the lens itself, the googles can be misaligned, and there's a large compound glass

group that has a propensity for separation...

Thanks, Henry. I've just developed some Tri-X that I shot at the same venue, so shall soon see how it compares. It was a very dimly lit velodrome, despite having TV cameras present (and being the World Cycling Centre of the UCI), so I was shooting at f/1.4 and 1/30 - 1/60s, so panning was more miss than hit.

A picture from a bit earlier this year. Henry knows the location  ;) .

attachicon.gif160709_3_MP_0013.jpg

MP, 2.8/135, FP-4

I decided on that occasion to carry the 2.8/135 with me for the MP. With respect

to size and weight it's a monster, but I used it - surprisingly - quite a lot. In terms

of handling it is quite well balanced, the only disadvantage I thought was that the

rewind-button is hidden under the "glasses" and difficult to reach. The Bokeh you

get in B&W seems ok (have to try colour on occasion), at least in the example

above the unsharp areas in the foreground and background seem nicely balanced.

I like this, Christoph. The bokeh is subtle, and the tonal range works well.

This is a really nice shot, Gary. You captured a nice moment during human interaction, and she appears very relaxed.

You're processing on the road, on the trip Eoin???

Man, that's dedication for you, most would have simply taken digital.

I just discovered some very old slides (Ektachrome 100), suffering from extensive mishandling upon processing that would take me ages to correct on PS before posting. So, I am uploading them "as are" for one interesting reason: they have been taken with a FED5 rangefinder and a 55mm f2.8 lens.
