Thanks, Christoph. I can always count on you for a careful look. Even more careful than me, apparently. Thanks for catching the tilt, which is easy enough to correct even on my iphone Below is the corrected version.

Funny you mention film choice.

I have shot quite a bit of Velvia 50 in 120 format here in Israel over the past month or so. Much more so than Provia 100F or Portra 160 (whichbi also have a lot of here) The rational side of me says that i should just use the provia and that it is perfectly fine for gorgeous colors and the look i want (i have been working on a special series showcasing the many different aspects of the terrain here, and only on the side of the highway connecting Jerusalem and Tel Aviv (which includes vineyards, pomegrante orchards, sabris cacti, watermelon fields, and flower farms...)

I have been shooting in late'ish afternoon or late morning light, in which everything is pretty much exposed to the same light.

My emotional side has caused me to use the velvia 50 most of the time. I hope that i am not making a mistake. One issue that i am grappling with is film storage and exposure to heat. I have been keeping the film in a dark closet at room temperature and then when shooting with the film it is normally exposed to hot temperatures. I then have been (promptly) storing the exposed film in my frig. Not mich elae i really can do as i dont trust the film developers here in Israel and dont have room in my frig to store all of my unexposed film.

Do you think i'll be ok? Others?

Adam,

I am afraid I cannot help you much wrt storage and heat. In my experience film is quite robust and forgiving, though that experience is mainly based on bw film.

Adam and Christoph weather in Israel is also hot like in Asia.

A good idea to put your rolls in a frig. Adam and developed when you'll be

back. I did the same thing when I was in Asia.

Velvia 50 Isos is a good choice. I'll return for another mission in few weeks

at the end of August and I'll also take with me Kodak 100 or 160 for color

and in b&w Kodak 400 (some rolls) for night street shots and TMax 100. :)

Nice series

Yes Henry, the Topolino was a FIAT, many years before the 500 (1957) and the new 500 (2007).

I recognize the problem from my Elmarit-M 2.8/24. I may be wrong, but I thought that some B&W filters were particularly thin and would allow for the hood to fit.

Christoph

Unfortunately not, at least all the filters of several brands I tried....

Joachim you're right to use the Summarit 90 for these pictures

Real effect of perspective with this lens.

I like the 90 mm and also 135 for this kind of pictures.

Kodak Portra gives a very nice and soft color .

Thanks

I certainly do, Henry. Here's a view from just around the corner, and another from a hundred metres away (with a token gesture to the "reflections" theme).

Eoin yes a nice place with this big mirror , effect of being in the space with head down.

For the first picture , we have the same way of photographing :)

Great pictures

Thanks Eoin
