An area where we holidayed, we had a bach there, and skiied to the rock and back.

Great fun as kids.

Both Ektachrome, and on the Rolleiflex T.

Gary

Very nice, Gary. Your Northern roots show through with describing a "crib" as a "bach" . The Northern location shows through in the fact that the sun is shining, and there are no penguins in the mix.

A classic car shot with a classic lens   :)

Training for the classic local race, the Mongol Derby:

Training for the Derby ! by JM__, on Flickr

Shot with Ektachrome 100HC and a Pentax SLR during a chilly autumn day by a good minus 20 C degrees plus wind factor....

Such off season training took place for the sake of making movies...

These just get better and better, Jean-Marc. Each shot tells a story.

They are stunning scans, aren't they? Thanks, Chris - keep 'em coming.

But does this mean the scanner (Hasselblad) is superlative, or the camera lens (Nikkor? 35/1.4), or both?

I agree though, great scans/shots.

Gary

Hello all, many good pictures in this thread!

Here is a photo from Auray, Brittany, France. Yacht was leaning against the side of the jetty.

Taken with a Leica M3, Kodak T-Max 400, Leica Summarit 50/2.5. Developed in Ilford HC.

This is the very first image I have 'scanned' with a Leitz BEOON and a digital camera. Lens used is a CV 50/3.5 due to it's reputation for flatness of field. I manually inverted the curve in PhotoLine.

Any tips for scanning with the BEOON? And any thoughts on how to improve much appreciated  :)

It's a fine shot cobber, and really, unless you scanned it with a dedicated 35mm scanner at the same time, you'd be hard pressed to better it surely.

I too use (occasionally) a BEOON, and find my Plustek is easier. Not better, well I reckon it it, but just easier.

Be happy with the system you have. My BEOON is used fr M/F "scanning", but it's a chore to be sure.

Are you in the sweep, another PM, (6 in 9 years so far, correct?).

Thanks Gary for your kind comment.

My 35mm scanner is on the blink, so I'm trying out the BEOON whilst the scanner is away. Also bought another scanner, so will have 3 options! :)

I reckon none of our mob have a handle on how to run the country (Oz has the world's highest debt to GDP ratio now), so always a tough choice!  :)

What are the scanners? The BEOON is a piece of history, and really not designed for the uses we are putting it to. It works, but the reality is (to my mind anyway) the scanner works "better".

Yes, "The Lucky Country" gloss has tarnished a tad.

RPX-25.

3 things I learned today about stand-developing:

1) It's a very relaxed workflow, allowing you to go and do other things while the film is developing.

2) Going and doing other things is not always a good idea, when you forget that you're meant to be developing film.

3) The extra 20 minutes of forgetfulness and distraction doesn't make that much difference.

Very nice! What timings and developer did you use Eoin?

Primefilm XA, Pakon F135+ and the BEOON. The first two autofocus and batch process. XA takes maybe an hour or two for a roll of 36, the Pakon a few minutes. The BEOON surprisingly fast because I have an easy film advance setup that means no touching the film and the film is held flat. And the 24 megapixel image from the BEOON looks razor sharp at 100%. Will have to see what my eventual flow will be ...

No one should rely on luck!

I agree with Gary , much better a scanner than a Beoon

after that the better is print :)

Why make it complicated when it can be simple

in addition full of interferences

Gary can provide feedback. He tested both

Best
